Sky Discount For Existing Customers

Hi all
I rang to get a discount the week before last thinking I'd be quids in over xmas.I'm on the £19.50 package and told them with 3 kids and xmas looming I was looking to reduce my outgoings really laid it on thick !!!!I was passed to cancellations and asked what we like to watch I said films and kids tv they then totally turned the tables and asked what my kids would think of me if I cancelled.Anyway not offered anything told that if there were any forthcoming offers they'll be out the 1st week in Dec and to ring back then and that they would put a note on my file to say I'd be interested in future offers.

just tried to get the full package by requesting to cancel, wasn't offered anything, just handed to the cancellatiion dept who took my details etc & told me my service would end on 15th Dec!!!
oh well, will have to try the happy 3 code on the 16th

I posted this topic three montsh ago after sky had reduced my FULL package to £15.99 per month, on a three month trial period,

I wasnted to cancel my sky so i called them back after the three months and they offerd to extend the deal another 3 months, i said i cant afford it what with a new baby, and she said what are you willing to pay?

I said if they coudl do the whole package for £9.99 for three months id consider staying for 3 months..

They agreed and signed me up on £9.99 a month until end of febuary.

I think Sky are so desperate if you haev ahd your contract longer than 12 months give it a go what do you haev to lose...

i cannot believe...this "bluff" actually works !!!!!!!!

i have sky+ £29.50 (£10 and £19.50) and deceided to say that i wished to cancel. Got through to a pleaseant operater and stated i was unhappy with the repeats on sky, but more importantly the way custumers had been treated with the sudden demise of granada plus.

They asked me what i watched -i told them i liked the old programs/films, didn't watch the new movies, and watched football over at my brothers or down the pub.

Result= 3 months of £16 and FREE sky sports !!!!!!!!! ;D

They said it if i liked it at the end of 3 months, my total new packet would be just £28

they must be desperate
(ps i have been with sky for 10 years)

Does this work if you have the Sky + package with extra box & subscrition ? i'm paying £51 a month at the moment

That was my situation and I phoned them saying that I was pushed with Xmas coming up and something had to give. Explained I did not want ot cancel but needs must, next minute 1/2 price for 3 months ;D ;D

Be prepared for them cutting you off, but if your paying full whack then you need a kick in the head.

You can get a family G1 package i think its called for £19.50 per month all the sports with about 5 movie chanels thrown in.

If you have been with them for years call them tell them you have a reason to cut your out goings and you care considering freeview.

They will then offer you a lower deal so not to lose you, once they start to offer you a lower deal tell them you really want your sky but you can only afford £10 a month.

They may then do for you what they did for me, or they may so sorry to lose you. but its well worth it trust me it works.... good luck

Just rang sky, explained i was having difficulties with the skybox, explained that i have spoken to there tech support and the problem still exists and i want to cancel, they offered to replace the equipment for
65 pounds, i said i still want to cancel because i could not afford the money especially at this time of the year, i was put on hold and then offered a brand new installation for free if i stayed with them......what a result, i was passed to around a bit to different departments and at one time i thought they were going to cut me off....ya got to call there bluff...fantastic ;D
