Well we got our cancellation, no last-minute invitations back!

After a week or two under severe family pressure (and I admit I missed some of the channels too) I called them to try to 'negotiate' a deal for returning.

First I called the new subscriptions number 08705 800 874 who said I had to call Customer Services on 08702 404040. The lady there said they could reactivate my account but couldnt' do any deals. The only way to get a deal was (a) to be a new subscriber i.e. new box and dish or (b) to be the recipient of a random phone call that their accounts dept makes offering a special deal. So I ate humble pie and reactivated, but at a lower package than before.   :-[

So my game of Call My Bluff with Sky didn't work - no reason not to try though.

After my snotty letter complaining about the service -- having my 2nd viewing card cancelled immediately instead of after 30 days, not being able to have it reinstated within the 30 days having to write in to claim the credit owed to me -- I received an apologetic reply saying they would credit my account with £3-odd [wow!] & saying if I wanted to come back they'd give me TWO, not 3, months at half-price. So I have. It's better than 'no bread' - although I haven't yet seen the dosh...
Expect the worst & hope for the best...

Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

I did exactly as it said on the post and it worked for me. I was on the £19.50 family package. They offered to reduce to which I replied that it wasn't a money issue but a value for money thing. Eventually after going round the houses for a while I have got the movies for 3 months and will be paying £2.00 pm less than I was.

I was polite, told them that it wasn't personal.

Now I will be £6.00 better off and have the movie channel over christmas. Just remember to cancel at the end of 3 months. 8) 8) 8)
  • Phoned yesterday, put through to Scottish office.

No problem being offered full package for £20.50 for 3 months...

    Saving £60.00... :)

    Thanks

  • hi
my half price at 3 months is coming to an end - 10 days to go - any idea of what to do next - I'm happy to go back to my previous 'family package' but movies and disney over christmas would be a nice bonus so is it worth haggling with sky once again??
    thanks for any tips folks
  • I phoned on Friday and tried to get the 3 month deal but was politely told to "get stuffed" and where did I get the "happy 3" deal info?

However as my dish has an intermittent fault( it was struck by a footbal again) I phoned to cancel my subscription as I'm not paying £60 to get it repaired. A very nice lady came on the phone and offered to repair the dish FOC, and also replace my receiver because I've been a subscriber for a very long time. (10years+) ;D At least I'll get a new hopefully Silver coloured receiver to match evrything else.

It's about 3 months since this thread began.

My Sky world @£20 per month runs out on 27-Nov (so does my mothers...!)

Has anyone been able to get an extension on the offer?

Maybe I'll have to down the package for a couple of months beofre trying again. I don't want to pay £41.

    Finger crossed :-/
