Told the sob story about xmas coming up- was offered family package for 13.50 but explained I really wanted movies over xmas - settled for one free month of sky world package - takes me up to 28.12.04. Going out to buy more videos. Will try for the reduced family package later

I had prem plus (all the sports but no movies) when I called them, I explained that I did not want to cancel but needs must. They offered me the whole package for half price for 3 months. Just be polite and hopefully you will get the same deal as me. ;D ;D
    Nice to save.

dave how far did you have to go? as there are people saying they were transfered to this section etc.
what i'm trying to say is how long before i need to pull the plug.

I phoned the normal sky customer services number and went for the option of cancellations and explained my position, got talking about football (brought up because of the password on my account) and he told me he was going to transfer me to the cancellations dept. Explained myself again, just kept stressing I did not want to leave but wanted kids to have good xmas etc etc and offer was pretty much immediate. I had no issues at all so good luck ;D ;D
    Nice to save.

    Hi all

Just a note of warning from those of you who have just or are just about to call Sky with the "sorry, can't afford it" story. If they offer you any deal CHECK YOUR STATEMENT CAREFULLY I am at the end of the so-called three month discount and each month I have had to phone them and point out that yet again they haven't given me the discount. My discount should have run Sept - Oct - Nov, it wasn't put in place (despite them sending me a confirmation letter) so it was amended to Oct - Nov - Dec, yet again they took full amount in Nov so its now Dec - Jan - Feb - IF they get it right this time!!! Thought I should let you all know this so as you don't think its all in the bag without checking.

    Debs x >:(
  • I just called saying I was thinking about it and they offered f*ck all :(
    Er...
  • Just got off phone to Sky with 1 month of the movie channels added to my standard Family Package of £19.50.

Just talked nicely about cancelling due to watching mostly Freeview channels, but I was really interested in the movies but couldn't justify the cost. Got passed from the first guy on the line to another who did the deal.

Not bad for 5 minutes on the phone !! ;D

Phoned SKY on the 0207 number, eventually transferred to "customer care" after much debate...THEY asked me what I would accept for them to retain my custom......hey presto.....6 months at half price on Sky movie world package was £35.00 now £17.50 per month for 6 months! RESULT!!

if you get passed to the canellations dept, youve nearly got what you want, there more intrested in keeping you no matter what...just argue the toss with them until you get what you want, ask to speak to someone else if you do not get any joy, i have already posted earlier on about getting a free installation because my current box is not working properly and they wanted to charge me £65..told them to stuff it...is this how you treat long standing customers bla bla bla...i got it in the end afterr being passed arounf different people, be firm but polite the balls in your court not theres.
