yes, i was just under yesterday and should be again today

i feel the same, i can do really well by myself at home, but if im at work or at uni (once a month, new course) i want to come home and stuff. i can identify that its tiredness, emotional discomfort about being busy, not meeting expectations, getting things wrong, insecurity etc etc

i would try to log everything despite it being snacks, rubbish etc. when i logged everything for those days at the weekend it was dreadful, the list didnt stop, croissants, custard creams, coleslaw, chips, steak and ale pie, gala pie, salmon fillet, roll mops, olives, dips, bits of chicken, potato wedges, hard boiled egg, parma ham, theres loads more!!!

BUT, it just means for me that the information on my log is accurate and i can watch the average intake now go down as i improve again this week and cut back again, contrary to how i thought it would make me feel, it has made me feel positive that i can have a blip now and then, and get straight back.

tonights tea is a cottage pie, but instead of potato on the top i use celeriac and turnip as lower in cals

need to go out soon for the veg but its raining...

Yes, I really should log everything I eat, regardless of whether I'm doing well or not. I will start today :)

I agree with the scoffing syndrome! I think it's just a comfort thing when I've had a stressful day, hopefully won't be the same when I start working! I've had some stressful jobs in the past and that has probably not helped with my weight.

I'm having new potatoes, peas and a chicken breast thing I think.. :)

Wore my new jeans today, made me feel much better, just wish they were a 16 and not a 20! or even better a size 12 lol (I can dream :D)

Going to try and drink more fluids too, try and curb the hunger a little..

Your cottage pie sounds yummy! I'd love to never eat carbs again, they do bloat me so much, but I know I need them at the moment and got to change one thing at a time I guess.

Oh, local leaflet came through the door about hypnotism for weight loss! ahhhh.. I know it probably wouldn't work, but I wish it did lol.

i do eat carbs, im not cutting out anything at all, im just focusing on low fat, low cal as that is what has seemed to work for me. the times when my carbs have gone down, cals gone down but fat gone up is when i havent lost, so im not into the low carb thing

to bulk out the celeriac and turnip i sometimes add a potato because the others can be a bit watery but because this will be baked off in the oven, it will dry it out a bit. im also adding a pot of plain yoghurt to the mixture to make it creamy.

talking about carbs, ive been eating a lot of bulgur wheat and quinoa lately, i love it. plain with curry or chilli or....

very finely chopped corriander, mint and parsley, chopped spring onions and crushed garlic. the first time i did it, i put the raw garlic, a chilli and chopped normal onion in a little cup with lemon juice and left it for a few hours, it calms down the rawness of the onion and garlic. anyway, mix that all in, make sure theres lots of the herbs. add a table spoon of olive oil and the lemon juice.

i bought some baby plum tomatoes and black olives today for my next batch of it. depending on what cals ive got, i add that salad cheese to it, but im too fond of it so the fat count tends to go up!

one 'cup' of cooked bulgur wheat is about 150cals or there abouts. i cook it all up and measure myself out a cup at a time

Oooh, that sounds really tasty! I'll have a look for it in the shops next time..

I used to eat loads of couscous.. I'd buy it dry and then just pour some hot water on it with a little butter (nowdays minus the butter I guess), and some salt. Then I'd finely chop cucumber, spring onions, peppers and garlic.. mix with the couscous when it had cooled down a little.. :) I should make that again, it was very tasty and filling.

Never thought of adding yoghurt.. saying that I generally only have fruit yoghurts in the fridge, I don't think that would work very well ha ha! Shepherds Pie with a peach yoghut, celeriac and turnip topping, erghh..

I love olives! Always get some fresh ones if I can, they are really nice. I hated them when I was younger, only got into them once I was into my 20's.

that sounds good, how is today? yesterday was bad for me, i had chip shop chips after a row with OH. small portion but i counted about 700 for them. then 2 big glasses of wine in the evening. i didnt go over my cals but the nutritional input was dreadful, virtually empty useless calories.

today this evening we are having poached haddock with cous cous mixed up with all that stuff. an hours walk (slow pace) gave me a bit more to eat too!

ha! I'm not the only one that had a row at the weekend then :o luckily I didn't have a chance to eat though.

I've been doing well so far. I'm at 3.5lbs lost now, I hoped for more off today, but the scales are stuck :( went for a 3 mile walk yesterday with the OH.

Although no more weight loss, I feel much thinner today.

    Badminton on Weds again.

I did make a roast port dinner last night, had a half size portion to normal, and said no to the crackling.. *cries* :rotfl:

Not snacking, not eating desserts, and not had an energy drink in quite a few days now!

How are you doing Puddy? I did read that a 'decent' meal once a week kick starts your metabolism, so maybe the chips will be kind to you?

i dont know, because although the calories were stuck to, the level of fat and alcohol would have been fairly high and the last time that happened to me with fat, i got 'stuck', so we'll see. i did weigh myself after i last posted and another 2lbs off, so that makes 9lbs, its the same today, so hopefully its ok.

its nice seeing my bmi going down (although only one point) and i got some blood results back on friday, cholesterol has gone down, blood glucose is better. a few years back my cholesterol was 6.9, last year it was 5.9 and now its 5.4, so im nearly in the 'ok' section. the last blood glucose was 6, which is pre diabetic, its now 4.5 which is excellent

Well done on the test results, not had mine checked, my blood pressure has always been okay though. It would have been interesting to see what my blood glucose was, bet it was pretty bad.. :o

Sounds like you got away with the chips! :D I live opposite a chip shop, luckily I'm not too fussed with fish and chips. I'll have them now and then but prefer battered sausage lol.. even then I find it all too greasy. I'm more of a sugar eater than greasy fry ups or fish and chips.
