    What is ajaxing?

A way to clean stainless steel surfaces.

There's a knack to it, and McD'd employees tend to become pros depending on how long they work there!

  • nothing wrong with working at mcdonalds! worked my way up to shift manager, made lots of new friends, free food at work and discounted outside. Moved on to Assistant Store manager at KFC now earning just short of 20k a year. Go for it. its not bad at all!

Yep was the best job I have ever had. The pay was rubbish at the time but made loads of friends. Always busy and teaches you a lot about working hard. I think everyone should work at McDonalds for at least a few months when they are teenagers it sets you up with the right work ethic!

Did you see the bit on their website about McDonald's 'employing for the smile?'
I've spoken to many hundreds of McDonald's employees over the phone and the huge majority were lovely, friendly people. You sound friendly and positive, that has to be a plus.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

When I was there, one of two things seemed to happen to most people.

They either loved getting the free food on break, became experts at creating their own versions and got so hooked o McD's food that they'd regularly come in to buy it at discount even on their days off.

Or they got so sick of the sight and smell of the stuff, and so bored of having the same stodge to eat every shift that they ended up never eating it and bringing their own stuff in.

I was the latter, still don't eat the stuff, just can't bring myself to fancy it, if you know what I mean! I didn't lose any weight though, I think the grease seeps through your pores!

That is such a lovely thing to say :o I'm not perfect, but I've always been really good with customers, so let's hope my charm works :p

As for eating the food, well I worked in a kitchen when I was about 15yrs old (probably illegally!) and I lost tons of weight because I just didn't want to eat anything but a slice of chocolate cake every day! lol.. It was so nice that cake.. :A
