Uni does yes, but I live 33 miles away from Uni, so it wouldn't help me.

Maybe I'm just being a bit snobby and need to just get on with it..[/QUOTE]

Go for it!! you will be suprised at how many different skills you will learn, when i first started i thought it would just be flipping burgers, so it would be easy work, but its far from easy, you learn alot regarding teamwork, and face to face communication if you work on the tillls, 1 of my floor managers was part time as she was studying at Uni,maybe you could do something similar if you earn your crust as a Crewmember

My nephew works there and he loves it. Extra money and making friends who are all studying too, can't go wrong! Good luck :)

Thanks everyone, and sorry to sound like such a sap! lol.

I'm a hard worker so hopefully it'll be a good job that will be rewarding. I guess I'm snobby as I've previously had some good jobs, mortgage advisor, assistant manager etc, but like you say, money is money and I can't be too choosey..

I will apply and see what happens! :)

  • I worked in McDonalds for a year while at uni, ended up after a couple of months as shift runner and earnt some fairly good money (not many lectures on my course). They were incredibly flexible with shifts, paid quite well and you could eat for free if you wanted to. However, I always remember the smell. It just lingered and even washing my uniform after every shift didn't get rid of it.

Not bad for some part time cash though.

I'm hoping it would help me diet lol.. I tend not to be bothered with eating if I'm working in a food environment..

    Thanks for the info :)

My DD has just applied for McDonalds. Its close to home and can fit around her college studies. Fingers crossed she gets the job.

I have been relaying some of the comments from above - the smells as well as the vast amount of pro's. I think it will do wonders for social skills and work ethics; you have to start somewhere!

    Well I've applied.

Let's hope they are interested in me!

    The smells sound disgusting!

    Good luck to your DD!
