I'm 26 weeks, but yep I got cramps down the backs of my legs and feet with my previous and this pregnancy. It's excruciating and sometimes lasts for ages.

Asked the docs and there's nothing you can do :(

Why is it when you have 100 different things to do with your weekend, that you suddenly feel sick part way through task 1 :( I was sick yesterday after cutting in two walls of the nursery so had to abandon painting until later on. Today I just feel queasy. I wonder if I've just overdone it with the whole getting up and down the chair to cut in the ceiling :( booo. Oh well duvet day and I'm getting lots of kicks :D

    Hi ladies,
16+5 today. Midwife appt Thursday and have been called in to repeat a urine test too due to suspect results first time round (will prob go Tuesday morning). Haven't had leg cramps (though I know this feeling and totally sympathise) but have had restless legs as I drop off to sleep quite regularly, not painful but uncomfortable and feel like they need a good stretch. Going to ask midwife Thursday.
Had a quiet weekend, housework, sofa etc. Last night in laws and sister in law came over and we told sil our news. We'd waited a while as she has learning difficulties and we knew it would be a big reaction and a lot of baby talk all the way to January. But thought now would be good while we were all together and before I started showing. She's thrilled to be an auntie :)
Pleased weather forecast is good for this week, finding dresses much more comfy that trousers now!

Hi ladies! Hope you've all had a nice weekend :)

Kerri- get your OH to finish the painting, it clearly disagrees with you! ;) I know what you mean about the nausea hitting when you really don't want it to!

We were supposed to ge going away on Saturday (just for a night in a B&B on the coast) and had to cancel it as I kept getting really dizzy and fainty when I was getting ready and couldn't stand the idea of being stuck in a car feeling that bad for 2 hours! :o Poor OH, he was so nice about it even though he was disappointed. I felt a bit better in the afternoon so we went to the cinema so the day wasn't a total bust. :) We also had a look around Mamas and Papas and Mothercare for our first 'proper' baby stuff recce (we've been looking around before but he wasn't too interested and I got overwhelmed! :o) and OH got really gooey over the toddler beds as we're going to have someone small enough to fit in one! :p Picked out our pram and got a good idea for what we're going to have in the nursery. OH wanted to order everything there and then but I said that I want to wait until after the 20 week scan before we go start buying the big stuff so he's declared the weekend after that to be the Big Shopping Weekend and he's really excited. I never thought I'd see the day when he got excited about baby bedding and rockers! :)

aw Birdie so glad your OH is excited, I'm still trying to gee mine up a bit but he got super excited about little madame doing acrobatics in my stomach for a good half hour last night. Hope you're feeling better now too.

I've had some lower back pain since yesterday, seems to hurt more when I breathe in. I'm a bit confused by it as I still don't really look like I'm showing, maybe everything is just so squished now it's causing bits to hurt boo :(

Didn't win the nursery set I wanted on fleabay last night, it went for £316. Spent the evening looking at furniture online and I have no idea what we should get. I don't want to spend a small fortune and so far all she really needs is a chest of drawers so I have somewhere to put the bits and pieces we've been given. Has everyone gone for matching small people furniture or are you going for big furniture? We've got a moses basket from my Mum for her to sleep in for the first few months so can wait on the cotbed, starting to get aware that there's 5 paydays until she arrives and I need to save some money so I can afford to go on maternity.

  • Kerri glad your LO's performance last night got your OH all gooey. I hope you guys are ok. Sorry you lost out on the ebay bargains (although £300+ sounds like it went for a lot in the end!) I don't have any advice re: the furniture, we didn't bother with a change unit as such but did buy a converter thingie which fitted on top of a chest of drawers, like this to save space. Our DD never had a Moses basket, she had a rocking crib until she was 6 months and moved into her own room, and I know a lot of friend's babies outgrew theirs at around 8 weeks  However with online shopping, supermarkets etc you can always pick up a cot within a few days if it looks like your LO is expanding out of theirs!

Birdie bless your OH, how sweet! You must have your 20 weeks scan around the same time as us (27th August) then?

Fran-o Glad your SIL can now share in your excitement. :T Hope all ok with urine sample and that your restless legs / cramps subside. Isn't pregnancy fun?!

Starshinning I'm not excusing your mum at all, but remember you are her little girl and she will be worried about you. Although my mum is delighted about the baby, I know she feels torn because she sees it as me putting myself "in harm's way" ... after all, having a baby is a pretty big deal! I hope you find some support from other family members or friends soon.

TL think your mum and sis's advice ... things can only get weirder :rotfl:

BigZippy hope you're getting some more sleep now and that bump has popped out a bit more to relieve the pressure / stretchy feeling!

AFM: nothing to report except my normal clothes now don't fit! I have put on about 6 lbs (19 weeks now) but as I've said before it was 3.5 stone with DD  so I'm sure I will be the size of a house (and not a lovely little terrace either ... Buckingham Palace probably) before too long. Lots of love to all and best wishes with any scan etc this week :D

    Afternoon Ladies,
Had a horrible night last night- couldn't sleep and then when I did I dreamt that I'd lost the baby :( and my tummy was sore all night up at the top, like right below my sternum so baby must be pushing upwards.

Birdie poor you for your weekend! at least you still managed to have fun :)

mincepie buckingham palace? at least you'll be quite regal and full of splendor lol

Kerri it's a shame about the nursery furniture but there's plenty time to grab a bargain ;) we're going to take a trip to the mamas and papas outlet store in Huddersfield once we're at furntiure buying stage (if this house ever goes through! a colleague went at the weekend and their stuff was meant to be £1200 but they got it for £500!

Fran-O I've got my 16 week appointment on Wednesday. really want her to listen to the heartbeat but at the same time scared in case she can't find it! lovely about your sister-in-law's happiness, always great to see others excited :)

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing okay.

I've noticed a few new faces on here which is lovely. Not much to report my end. Next scan is 3rd Sep. Hoping she has grown a bit.

Mincepie, my 20 week scan isn't until September 23rd/24th (can't remember but I know it's around then!), OH is just getting really ahead of himself! He's pretty visual IYKWIM and likes to see things happening so is getting pretty stressy about not having a nursery set up yet (we've still got soooo long to wait, what's the rush?!;)) because there's no physical proof that we're having a baby! He's a funny one, bless him! :p

Shame you missed out on the furniture Kerri. A real bargain will come along soon I'm sure! :)

We're not totally settled on what we're doing furniture-wise. Thinking about a rocking crib for having in the room with us and a cot in the nursery (obviously!). Probably a set of drawers with changer on top, maybe a 'baby' wardrobe, but may just get a regular one from Ikea and build it to suit having tiny clothes in there. Not sure! :o Oooh thanks for the reminder about the M&P outlet TeamLowe, need to go and check that out before buying anything! :)

Nice to see you Lily, hope baby girl is growing nicely! :)
