I had a 17 yr old ask "I take it the baby wasn't planned then?"
    1) she barely knows us
    2) I'm almost twice her flipping age
    3) we've been married 4 years next month
    4) we were 6 wks away from an IVF referral!

I put her straight, and tbh I just think she's a bit daft and clueless, but !!!!!!! What an assumption?!!

In other 'news', it seems my CFS/ME didn't get the memo about having more energy etc in the 2nd trimester  Getting concerned I'm essentially going to be on bed rest by the end and not have any energy to push the poor mite out :( I know it's not the end of the world, and don't get me wrong, I'll take this baby any way I can get it, but it's frustrating enough to feel like an inconvenience/burden/invalid when it's just me... The idea of putting my baby in harm's way, inside me or outside me, terrifies me  My ankle went last night (I have dodgy joints too) and I couldn't walk for a while...it bothers/scares me far more now I'm responsible for MiniZee too :o

Lots of love BigZ, do whatever you can to take good care of yourself, your body knows how to look after littleZ and once they're here you'll be an amazing mum.
FWIW my auntie in law had to have c sections with her children cos of her disability and she thinks they're the best thing ever and can't understand why more women don't have one lol she also had her little ones in nursery two days a week from being about six months old, to provide respite, is that something you'd consider?

Fran-O yay for your bump showing and the maternity clothes :)

Lilymay good luck for Tuesday, although I'm sure you don't need it :)

Had a drive to the nearest kiddicare at Aintree and pretty sure we've picked our travel system- choice is limited by the fact that we have a Yaris but the Babystyle Oyster looks good and folds up nice and small and you can get cute patterned footmuffs. Will have to actually try it out after 20 week scan but it's the firm favourite :)

I love the Baby style Oyster, it would be my 1st choice if we needed to buy a new pram :)

This is my second baby, I've had more ask if this one was planned than with my first!

Grrrr hiked all the way to debenhams for bra shopping and it was closed! Home again and looking online...

Didn't realise you had CFS/ ME zippy, we have a friend who has had this a while. After a few years break he's now well enough to be working again full time which is good, though not as active as he'd like to be - he was very sporty before he became ill. They have two young kids and are managing well. Hugs to you and hope the worry doesn't get you down too much x

Team Lowe, that's very organised already! Feel like we've got tons to do but nothing happening yet. The list before we get to edd includes new car (our mini is too impractical), new bathroom and associated DIY, turn spare room into nursery, plus all the usual first baby prep and shopping... Got to start getting organised!

Fran: I really feel for those of you undergoing big DIY projects when pregnant it must be stressful. Thankfully we have got enough spare rooms/ DIY all fairly recent so we dont need to do anything bar sort bedroom and items we have for baby x we could do with changing my car, it's big enough but is costing me a fortune on parts/ running costs.

I'm feeling so worn out today, I've slept well so not sure whether its pregnancy tiredness or what but I had hoped I was over this! Almost fell asleep in work on Friday. I've also had to buy some embarrassing 'big pants' as my usual ones feel so uncomfortable for my bump. DH keeps taking the mick!

I'm itching to start washing stuff ready for baby but it seems silly so early as it'll have to be stored until November.

Thank you all for the warm welcome :D

I have been steadily buying bits and pieces over the last few weeks but a couple of days ago I went and bought maternity clothes as almost none of my pregnancy clothes fit. The bits I bought are lovely but it was hard to find things that I liked even though I looked online and in store, however it should be enough to get me through the next couple of months and I can pick up other pieces if I see them.

We are on a very tight budget and every penny has to work hard as it means a day or two less maternity leave and I think I am only going to be able to afford 6 months as it is.

The Oyster looks great and was one that we considered however we were very lucky to get a Silver Cross pram second hand and hardly used. In fact gumtree and freecycle have been great for things so far.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!

    Morning Ladies,
Seems like all the optimistic pram research yesterday was a bad idea as it's thrown me into more panic and worry :s I'm just not feeling anything at the moment, I do seem to be developing a bump but being a big girl already it just looks like fat pushed forward rather than a lovely curve of a baby bump :(

I guess this (14+1) is a weird in between stage - no comfort from early pregnancy symptoms because i'm passed that and no comfort from kicks because it's too early

I know you're meant to enjoy the second trimester as it's the easiest but I just can't wait for the third to feel baby move!

5 weeks 1 day until my anamoly scan, really hope everything is ok :s just have to remember how strong Flutter looked on the 12 week scan x

TL I feel the same! I keep panicking that I have no idea what's going on in there and hate that I have to wait until 23rd September to see how the baby's doing! :o

We've been looking at prams and after getting totally overwhelmed by the choice I think we've narrowed it down to the Babystyle Oyster or the Cosatto Giggle, although I haven't been able to find the Giggle in any local shops to actually try it out but they've got money off at the minute so OH is pressing me to make a decision so we don't miss out on the deal, argh! :o It doesn't help that I've just read a couple of bad reviews of the Giggle so maybe we should opt for the Oyster as everyone seems to love that. OH isn't too fussed either way, he picked out the Oyster but likes the look of the Giggle too so he's no help! :o Then once all this is over we have to find a baby carrier!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Team lowe, birdie, I felt EXACTLY the same. When my symptoms went and I just felt pudgy not pregnant and couldn't feel MiniZee etc...I got really down, actually :o you'll start to look and feel different in a matter of weeks and it won't be too long before you feel movements and such, but I agree, the stage you're at right now is the worst/least reassuring so far.

As for nursery, yes it's something I've considered to help me rest enough, and also socialise the baby more than I feel like I'll be able to facilitate. We'll have to see how it goes for now though, and what money we have available too :o Dh is able to work from home 50% of his work week (barring meetings and whatnot) so I shouldn't be totally alone all the time... :o
