12 to 24 week pregnancy thread

Yes it's normal xx I woke up this morning and panicked as I'd not felt the baby move... but he has a similar sleeping pattern to me and 20 minutes after I woke up he did too.

Definitely abby.
I have this every morning. I just turn from my side onto my back and put my hands on my tummy and he tends to kick once after like 20 seconds lol. Then I can get up and know everything is fine.
I dont think we will ever stop worrying really! Its nice to have the reassurance these days though with feeling him kick or move.

Scan went really well thanks - feels like a massive achievement reaching 14 weeks

I can't wait to the 20 week scan now so i can get shopping

i love freebies, so glad ur scan went well. the next few weeks till next scan will fly.

My tummy was going crazy last night, was amazing watching it. I feel so very lucky to be able to experiance this. i don't think i will ever tire of baby movements in my tummy. even tho some do hurt. My tummy is quite firm but last night i was laying on the sofa and my tummy went even harder, then i felt a really different type of movement and my belly on the left side went really soft and the right side was like a ball. so hard. i'm a little tease i couldn't help but poke. hubby was laughing and saying baby will get u a min if u do that and he was right. i had a really big kick. lol.Note to self don't tease baby, i'll be got back. he he. oh but it was wonderful. i did say sorry to baby.

i'm 20 +2 and i must say i'm now starting to feel preg. even tho had tummy for a while. but i guess 5 pregnancies in 7 years my tummy muscles are prob to shot anyway, not that they were very firm even when i was a size 8 before i got preg,lol. the comment omg yoru so big now arent' you. don't help. but i'm proud of growing ym baby. But anyway back to point. i am really now starting to get excited and it is feeling really real. My eldest son has become so worried. he won't let me do anything ( he's 5) if he wants a cuddle he says is it ok for a cuddle i don't want to hurt baby or you. he asks if baby is ok and he fusses me. It is sooooo sweet. he is so loving. My dd is planning everything for when her sister is born ( not much pressure. ) i did say to her it might not be a girl, but mummy and daddy will have more babies so there is plently of time.


Last night tho i must say my youngest made me cry. not in a bad way. All the kids were soundo ( i thought) but i could hear a noise. couldn't work out what is was tho. Went upstairs to find my youngest had found his sisters dolly buggy and was sat in it, wheeling himsefl up and down his bedroom. HE looked so tiny and cute . he saw me and gave me the biggest smile ever. i asked him if he thought he should now be in bed. so he got out gave me a huge cuddle said i love you, got into bed and zonked out. It was so sweet. i don't know if he was half asleep. but i just watched him goign backwards and forward in his bedroom. It just made my heart melt at how cute he looked. i started crying. i'm so emotional.

Well this morning (11am :P) I woke up and rolled over and got a few kicks to my pelvis. Cheers baby Joshua.
If you kick me in real life....I'll......probably smile haha

He kicks me a little less some days and some days he goes mental. I have noticed and I don't know if its a coincidence but when Liam comes to see me so maybe once or at the most twice a week when we lie in bed in the dark ready for sleep he starts kicking me a lot when we are talking. But he can't be used to Liams voice as I don't see him much?

Anderson that's great news! I have been feeling the same, and only really in the last 1-2 weeks have the movements seemed firmer on occasion, like his strength is building up! Even so most times it's like little butterfly wings so nothing painful (yet) and I call him my little goldfish as it feels like goldfish flips sometimes. OH feels him kick now and knows what to expect - ie: not huge kicks, he feels the ripple type feeling.

jcr that sounds so sweet, he's too cute! I know what you mean about tummy hardening - is that Braxton Hicks?
I have had it maybe 3 times through the whole pregnancy so just wondered. I figure it's just him moving around though as could be his head or bum causing the hardness when moving if that makes sense.

Abby it could be that he recognises Liam, as it's whoever is quite close to you really, and he's the closest phsically when he is with you. Baby can hear you at 33% volume from what I remember, then OH, followed by other sounds like car horn, dog barking, music etc.

Well I will linger here a little more as I can't seem to let go but as am 24 weeks this week it may be my last!

Mine's a lazy sod, he sleeps all day & wakes up about 8pm just in time to keep me awake all night. :rotfl:

i personally wouldn't class it is braxton hick, just movement's. when i've had braxton hick, boy did i know it. sheer agnoy. my labour when i was fully dilated and pushing out a breech baby was less pain. but then everyone is different.

abby i expect ur little one does regonise your bf voice. it might also be the way you speak to your bf is so much different to how you talk to other's. your prob more relaxed aroudn your partner etc. your baby can pick up on all your emotions so when yoru happy and content he will be and thats is proberly why you get alot more kicks when your bf is with you.Babys are amazing at what they can sense.

Awww my little boy is a pickle. he didn't want a nap today. which is fine seeing as we didn't get out of bed till about 8 this morning. ( oh why is my bed soooo comfy on a wet and windy day when i've got to do a school run) my dd was in bed doing a wordsearch from the daily mirror ( i'm sure she isn't 7 !lol) and my eldest son was snoring in bed. but ah well. so we were just getting ready to go to post office and do school run, i popped up stairs to come back and find my little boy under a pile of cushions, sound asleep. he looks so cute. i thought i'll quickly hoover to wake him, nope nothing. he is out for the count.

sparkle i won't be far behind you in the next thread. But doesn't that seem daunting. I've done the trying for a baby thread, the up to 12 weeks one, then 12 to 24 ( nearly) and it won't be long until i'm in the last group. when i leave that one it will be because my baby is here. OMG !!!!!! time slow down please. it is going way to fast. then wont be long after baby is here ( end aug due) the shops start putting crimbo stuff in windows. Yes of course i'm excited. but ever feel like you want to hit the pause button.lol.

hope we are all ok?

had midwife appointment yesterday, heard baby's heartbeat which was lovely midwife was a bit of a cow though didnt seem very interested in me didnt even ask how I was doing, she really made me feel as though I was putting her out iykwim but I wont let her spoil it for me.

just finished work now have 2 off yeahhhhhhhhhhhh so glad need to have a good clean up and then a nice rest
