Is the glucose test something everyone has to have? Only it's never been mentioned to me before.

In my area there are a few deciding factors - my BMI was 0.5 over the cut off so I am having it at the end of July.

It's just a bit of fasting (you can have dinner before 8pm I think, but then nothing to eat in the morning) and then you drink a sugary drink like lucozade and they test your blood before and 2 hours after. Pretty simple, and a bit boring, but non-invasive and safe so I'm happy to do it just in case.

This baby is giving me the weirdest dreams. They almost feel real which is super strange.

Me too! I always have loopy dreams anyway but they have gone even more mad since getting pregnant! I quite enjoy it really, apart from the scary ones!

I have to say I am really enjoying the 2nd trimester, think I may have finally found my glow but I still don't look very obviously pregnant, If you know me you can tell but if not I still look a little like I've had a really big lunch! I was speaking to someone yesterday and mentioned that I was 5&1/2 months pregnant and she did a really obvious double take and told me I must mean 5 weeks -err no!
I'm going to doodle on to the big scary thread now, looking forward to seeing you all there :-)

I'm similar in that I'm feeling fine.

I haven't put any weight on but have changed shape. Maternity trousers way to big mostly but normal trouser mainly need to have the button undone -risky at work. Someone asked me today why I was walking round carrying a piece of paper over my bump (so I showed them my unfastened trousers!)

I suppose dresses would be easier & more comfy - but I'm just not a dress person. May have to try it though. PJs the best clothes - although I thought that before I was pg! Not sure I can get away with them in the office.

I've given up on wearing trousers to the office, stuck my nice flowy probably a bit too short dress on with some dark tights. Only 13 weeks but trousers don't really do up comfortably when I'm sat down now. Got home and was so relieved to take the tights off, I hate having bands around my waist at the best of times.

I'm living in maternity dresses and maxi dresses at the moment. So comfortable and so flattering. Touch wood, I'm feeling good to - no complaints. Although I'm hungry. A lot. But I seem to remember that from first time round :)

I have to have the glucose test as my last baby was big. 9lb 10oz.
My BMI etc are all good but glucose can cause big birth weights. Also having a growth scan at 36 weeks to discuss birth plan with consultant. Last time was an emergency section after long labour.
Anyway I'm 24+2 today so will mostly be found on the main pregnancy thread- time is flying by
Good luck to all of you x

Lol mil is really irritating Dh at the moment, everytime he mentions we've bought something her response is there'll be nothing for anyone to buy. Err yes there will be buy her toys, or clothes for when she's a bit older, we kind of need to get some newborn clothes in as can't just assume everyone will buy us everything and end up with a naked baby lol. Glad it's him dealing with his mum and not me, she's really winding him up lately!

Feeling the same, apart from the aches chick. When's your scan? Two weeks yesterday for me! X

    Vic 18+1

I've just had my private gender scan, the 20 week one is on 8th or 9th July! I highly recommend the private scans, IMO worth every penny. We got to see bubs for ages, every angle and got to see them hiccuping/ moving and saw so much detail. DH wants to go back again in a few weeks lol!

Oh and we're TEAM PINK!!! I'm over the moon!

I'm still feeling very achy but I think it's the spd/ back problems I have. Can't wait to go shopping now!

Lozza - stuff the MIL! It's upto you what you buy etc. maybe tell her something really expensive you want her to buy?! We bought lots last time and got gifted a ridiculous amount of bath stuff we are still using now! I need to start sorting my sons stuff but everything of his is v boyish so we will probably need most things

    Congrats Scarlet!

I have mine on 10th July. I'm really looking forward to it although I honestly don't care whether it's a boy or girl. I thought I would have a subconscious preference but I'm genuinely not fussed.

Lol we would but the thing is they have basically no spare money so it's not like she can really buy anything major anyway. I wonder if that's the problem as gran (her mum) is giving us money to the travel system, and maybe its making her panic that she can't afford to buy anything for baby - but Dh keeps saying to her it doesn't matter we've saved money up so we can buy everything ourselves we aren't expecting anyone to do it for us, and she's offered to help with child care when I go back to work which is obviously fantastic of her. Just can't win with the woman sometimes she can make a tiny thing into the end of the world lol.
