Argh.. I was trying to add links/vids.. with dummies not children so don't panic :p The literature dies state 6 years as per American advice but it is 4 or 5 here depending on who is writing it I think.

    This one.

    And this vid.

Your child is the most precious thing you will ever have.. second hand everything, reusing anything is fine but when it is something which may cost their life to save a few quid is it really worth the risk???

I don't think there is any way to recycle other than have 5 children in 5 years :p..

The general consensus on getting rid after an accident seems to be if the airbags deploy get a new seat.

PP is it ok do you think for me to use DS's maxi cosy car seat? It was purchased in 2010 and he used it till he was about a year old. It's never been in any accident thank God.

Obviously if we can reuse it we will, but like you say no money is worth LO's life.

If you are happy using it then go for it.. I'm saying nothing either way lol.

My old one (britax shr) was 3.5 years old from Squeak (8/2010), I've got a new one for this one (besafe izi go.. it matches the 2 bigger seats the older ones have :o).. mostly because I hated the old one and the 2 littlies did too.

Apparently dropping or knocking it off a chair/table etc is enough reason to buy new too.

If the car seat is over 5 years old you shouldn't use it.. The bits corrode and become unsafe, the plastic becomes brittle and cracks.. there are some pretty horrendous videos out there showing what can happen.. and there is no way to tell until it is too late. Also the safety requirements change massively year on year so better safe than sorry!!!

Oooooo, really? I didn't know that at all. I'll look in to it all. Thank you. x

    24 weeks today

We got our nursery furniture today. Might not be ideal for everyone but we got it second hand.

Paid £90 for 'I love my bear' range which included - cot bed, mattress, chest of drawers with changer on top, curtains, rug, quilt, cot bumper and 3 pictures for the wall.

For £10 we also got a baby bouncer and for free the lovely lady gave us a bath support chair and a zebra play mat.

Hubby and his dad went and picked it up and said the set was in fantastic condition, so we definitely got a bargain.

Here is my parting bump image. I personally think I look 'huge' now, compared to 4 weeks ago when I had my 20 week scan, bump just seems to have popped big time.

See you all on the next thread soon.

Hello all - I was back at work today after about 10 days off and I think I've shocked everyone with the size of my bump! I've not told many people that I'm pregnant and worn lots of scarves, loose tops etc but today it was vest top and thin cardigan and I look at least 6 months pregnant :)
I'm also exhausted at the moment even though I've done nothing more than sit around at my desk all day. I'm hoping it's just the hot weather etc.
Is anyone else feeling like this?

Yes, feel knackered at the minute. Not been sleeping v well and the warm weather is not helping. Woke up this morning with a slightly numb, painful hip. Not sure what way i was lying last night! God help us if we get any proper sunshine. Kudos to you doing it with two babas in there though, i feel like i should have nothing to moan about!

Hi all, got to see my gp in the morning. I had a small blood clot when I wiped at lunch but haven't bled since. Really worried. On the plus side, my results for Down's syndrome have come back- very low risk.
    Hugs to everyone x
