I know the chances are slim, but DH's cousin is the same age as me so her risk should have been 1/900 ish for downs but their actual result was 1/5. But MIL won't talk about it in front of me.
In terms of work, I'm finishing at 37 weeks and then have two weeks of annual leave, so maternity leave starts at 39 weeks. The good news however is that work are providing a spare laptop for me to keep at home so that I can work from home easily after midwife / other appointments or in the last few weeks. I work in a largely male environment and the men keep asking loads of questions. I have a junior who works with me and he's constantly asking what I can eat, what I've bought etc. It's quite weird!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

I may go to a shop and try it out but then buy it online. Then again it's only £20 more from JL and at least we can get them to fit it. I haven't even got my pram yet0 -
COMP, haven't you had your downs screening result yet? Or do you just mean worrying about something going wrong in general? I bet everything will be just fine and you'll get to see your healthy wee one squirming and kicking away
Will you be finding out the sex?

Bangton - a bloke at work kept asking me what to say to avoid offending as he keeps marveling at how big I'm getting. Maybe 'your bump is getting bigger'?
COMP - the junior sounds sweet aaaw. sorry to hear morning sickness is back. it's hard not to worry when you hear sad stories so near to home but remember every woman is so different even if they are the same age, height, religion etc.
AFM worrying lots about the right pushchair! I have decided on the cabriofix with the familyfix base which is isofix - it's the best car seat according to Which. I've subscribed to which online to look at pushchairs but that's still bewildering! brother and SIL are buying me a moses basket so that's sorted at least. No baby purchases yet! 22+20 -
I'm picking up a Babystyle Oyster buggy tonight which I got off ebay. Less than £150 for everything apart from the carseat, which I want from new anyway. I will also buy a new mattress for the carrycot. I've been researching buggies like a mad thing and this is the one I keep coming back to. I did fancy the Cosatto Giggle but there have been so many reports of wheels falling off it worried me.
Carseats, I wasn't going to get an isofix base as I get lots of practice through work fitting carseats with seatbelts, but it does look really easy and straightforward to have the isofix base so I think I'll explore that a bit more.0 -
Hi ladies I need some clothing advice, my granny died yesterday -she has been unwell for a long time and in hospital for most of my pregnancy :-( her funeral will be on Friday and I feel so selfish even thinking about it but I don't have anything to wear. My bump is small so maternity clothes look daft but no normal clothes fit. (Especially as by chest is massive) Does anyone have a recommendation for a very forgiving black dress that might be suitable? Thanks xx0

Sorry to hear about your Gran lemonmelonI had a funeral to go to in my earlier pregnancy and bought one of these from Ebay in black http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Ladies-MATERNITY-DRESS-V-Neck-Pregnancy-Size-8-10-12-14-16-18-Top-4400-/250984205008?pt=UK_Women_s_Tops_Shirts&var=&hash=item3a6fd30ad0 - it didn't look too big back then (and didn't gape at the front like some wrapovers can but you could always wear a vest top under it anyway). It also has the advantage of still fitting me now as its mega stretchy (plus is also quite reasonably priced). It was surprisingly good quality for something off Ebay and I also bought some tops off the same seller in the end too which were really comfy. Its also not as short as it looks on Ebay which I was also worried about.

So sorry to hear about your granny, your not selfish for thinking of what to wear dont be too hard on yourself. Perhaps you can buy a 'normal' top but just one size bigger maybe, its awkward that inbetween stage and doing that worked for me for a while, now its layering a floatish tops.0 -
Sorry about your granny Lemonmelon. I recently bought a black dress for work from wallis, £25 in their promo and I just bought a size up. It's not figure hugging but not too baggy either. Hope you manage to find something you like x0
