Lovecake - thank you so much for the advise and perspective of someone getting closer to the end than I am!
It's definitely made me think differently....and the things you mention your going to do in your maternity leave prior to baby are things I've just not thought about at all!
I'm mega nesting at the moment but a right good clean before baby comes, some food preparation, a hair cut are all beneficial and I guess even just some alone time to think would be nice..I may be anxious about the impending birth by then!
And today I caught the train...it was packed, I had no space around me at all just pressed up against people. No one moved to let me hold on let alone to offer a seat so I ended up near tears thinking nope I really can't be near my due date, trying to balance on a moving train with no space and nothing to hold on to. For some reason, I could cope pre pregnancy but now my legs turn to jelly..it's like I think I'm going to fall so my body just says 'sod it - fall then!' Then someone shouted at me as I came through barriers in train station for not noticing she had a pram and moving out of her way! I didn't mean to! Anyway I thought if I'm getting stressed at 22 weeks I'll be a nightmare at 37!!0 -
Lol a work colleague was convinced I was about 23 weeks...pointed out I'm 18 weeks tomorrow - he was like omg you're going to be huge towards the end as bump is big already. Comforting eh lol, mind you, he gets really freaked out by the fact that there's a tiny person living in me so I can get my own backAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

When school goes back I will be 37+2 and possibly will work one day. My head teacher is looking into whether I am required to work 1 day after the summer holidays in order for the summer holidays not to count as my maternity leave.
Of course I will happily work one day so in my summer holidays I get full pay as with being a teaching assistant I drop to 90% of my pay as soon as I go on maternity leave.
I had planned to go back in September for 2 weeks when my original due date was the 27th.
RE the MATB1 form I don't see my midwife until I'm 25+3 so hope that's not too late for my work, will have to ask on Monday.
Hope everyone is well. I enjoyed having my hair done today, haven't had it cut or coloured since just before Christmas as when I found out I was pregnant middle of January I put off having it coloured in the 1st trimester just for my peace of mine. Totally loved having it done today though, feel so much better, it was getting me down having my hair looking so lifeless.
Either way though I'm sure you'd cope with being in school for one day2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

I was planning to work up until my due date - I can move position a lot at work so that shouldn't be too bad. I just don't want to be at home being bored and waiting.0

Morning ladies
I'm finishing work at 34 weeks; this is my first and I have no idea how I will feel but I did think along the lines of lovecake that I would find sitting at a desk v uncomfortable towards the end and I work 40 hours a week, 30 mins drive each way. It's already getting awkward now at 21 weeks! Have to crawl on the floor to pick anything up if I drop it!
My manager gave me a funny look and said "both my daughters worked right up until the end" but I explained that working for the NHS as we do I am quite lucky in that the maternity package is very good so I feel in my circumstances I can justify having more time off before the birth hopefully (unless bean arrives early!) Besides its none of her business it's my decision!:p
In other news my MIL just phoned up at just gone 8am!!!!; I saw her number on the caller display so answered in my breeziest voice and she said oh so you're up then? It was like she had purposefully called to wake us up!! (she has done this in the past and had great delight in caling us "lazy" because she has been up since 6am). I always point out to OH that she doesn't work full time all week (she doesn't work at all and hasn't done for 20 odd years!) anyway I was pleased to tell her that we had both been up for "AGES" and OH had gone out to get some milk - Hehehehe really spoiled her fun:cool:
Hope everyone is getting a bit of sunshine today and bumps are behaving themselves - mine is being very wriggly the last few days - I have an anterior placenta so haven't been feeling as much as others at this stage so it's really nice :j

My response to that would of been "good for them, I am not your daughter now mind your own business ":rotfl:
I decided after losing one of the twins that I would be going on maternity leave as soon as I can, and going to spend that time relaxing (well as much as you can relax with a toddler to look after as well). It doesn't really make much of a difference to me as we have decided once this one is born I wont be going back and I will be a stay at home mummy for a couple of years.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
I think I'll be working up until 36 weeks as I have two weeks hols to take then my mat leave will start officially 10 days before due date. I don't feel guilty at all about being home beforehand! I'm sure I'll find tonnes of jobs to do and probably wear myself out over doing it.
Have woken up with a stinking cold today and as a result had barely any sleep last nightI know I can't take the usual drugs so I'm sipping on hot lemon and honey and gong to make a non dairy smoothie after chicken soup for lunch. Feeling very sorry for myself today, haven't had a bug for about 9 months!

I'm hoping to work up to 38 weeks, which might be ambitious but work have been great and switched my job slightly so I won't have to go out on visits and can be office based which will help immensely. If I can still drive, great, if I can't public transport is fine between the office and home so I'll live. My aim is to use the rest of my annual leave at the end of my mat leave.0

I don't think I'm going to make it to 38 weeks working I feel so achy/ tired already! I'm only 14w 3days. I think I'm suffering with spd
Tooth fairy I haven't ordered the carrycot yet, I'm trying to be sensible. DH doesn't want me to get it as we've still got our old pram (dreaded silvercross 3d) so I could use that in early weeks but I really want the carrycot that goes with the pushchair I used for my son mainly. I've said I'll buy it myself which he knows I will but I kinda don't want to yet! I've already got the TT perfect prep, bottles, micro steriliser and some washable nappies! I'll have nothing left to buy! But if the carrycot increases in price I'll cry...Trying to save for a deposit

I know what you mean KScarlet, so far i have bought some tommee tippee bottles, microwave steriliser, angelcare nappy bin, 2 wee outfits and a car seat. Trying to restrain myself for a while now.. Eek it sounds a lot written down!
