Hello all again. Amazing how one day is soo different from the other.

24+1 today and spent some time at my hospital having baby and myself monitored.

Hadn't felt my normal pattern of movements with baby since Sunday evening. Spent last night watching my tummy desperate to see a movement, hubby even played loud music. I stayed up until 11:30 pm just watching my tummy and then of course didn't sleep much.

Took myself to my Dr's on my way to work this morning (thinking I'd be at work), Dr couldn't feel any movements when pressing on my tummy so sent me through to the hospital we chose to have baby at to have a CTG done.

They monitored baby and it was such a relief to hear the heart beat, they left the machine on for a bit and did the usual checks on me etc. I was amazed my blood pressure was normal, thought it would be sky high with being so nervous.

I have an anterior placenta, so they explained that baby's movements can be cushioned and I might not feel them as strong from one day to the next etc.

Can relax now, have just eaten my lunch and think I'll have a snooze this afternoon.

I have an anterior placenta too and some days like yesterday baby was bouncing around all over the place but has been much more quiet today until I got home from work! My friend who is 32 weeks also has AP so luckily I knew what to expect but she was also really worried about movements until she found out why. I have a Doppler though so also have a listen and can hear it moving around even if I can't feel it! I was looking up checking foetal movements earlier. I believe it's not until third trimester when you are supposed to monitor them does anyone know if that's right?

I am another who would recommend Omeprazole. It's brilliant. I haven't taken it in pregnancy because I haven't needed to (yet) but did take it in the past and it completely sorted my acid reflux. Just one tablet a day! Good luck x

Glad nothing else has happened Vic it's probably just baby saying slow down :p xx glad you're having a scan for reassurance xx

I've been feeling movements for a few weeks but the past 2 days nothing :( I've just tried my Doppler which I think seemed ok. Bubs seems to go mad when DH puts his hand on my tummy but typically he is away for a few days. I feel very worn out and headachy today I think it's the heat.

Interesting about car seats I had recently heard that I wouldn't of thought anything of using one that was 4/5 yr old. We are using our sons it's 3 yr old so should be ok we'll probably bin it once baby outgrows it.

Anyone using stretch mark creams/ oils? I've got some bio oil I used that last time but judging by my tummy it didn't work miracles! I'm not overly keen on the smell so not sure what to try once this runs out?

I'm using palmers tummy cream - no stretch marks yet but plenty of time left lol!

I got Dh a cheap card saying from your little girl, saying you're the best dad I could have. Very true :D I didn't get anything for Mother's Day but it was very early days still so Dh probably didn't want to jinx it.

Got some more baby bits today, used my 50% off vouchers at aldi for wipes, nappies & baby bath, and got a pack of 3 sleep suits and some cute socks as I couldn't resist they were so cute :D

Coconut oil. No stretchmarks the first time around and so far at 25 weeks I have none.

I use wheat germ oil as my sisters in law recommended and they have 9 kids between them and no stretch marks! It's about £4 in holland and Barrett but the only downside being oil it does block the pores a bit. Body scrub seems to stop that though.

I'm using Kiehl's creme de corps, its really moisturising and seems to be doing the job so far. I have stretch marks on my hips from puberty (faded now) which makes me think i am probably prone to them, so not holding much hope of avoiding them completely!

28 weeks is the time to monitor movements according to my midwife :)
