Me & Dh popped in a mamas & papas yesterday as it was on the same retail park as ikea, we knew it would be expensive but still had a shock! Wasn't much for any of the clothes or pushchairs, we mostly wanted to see their furniture, but still think we prefer ones from mothercare & babies r us which is better for our savings too lol.

Dh measured and marked with a highlighter on my stomach today the length of our daughters body & her legs, its not wonder I can feel so much already if she stretched out she's basically the width of me!

Asda have currently got £1 Off Packed Bodysuits, Sleepsuits & pajamas & vests, it is online as well. It did say in store when it ran until but due to baby brain I can't remember! Tried to find where it says on online that the offer ends but can't see it anywhere. We got some cute vests and some sleep suits :)

Hi all, hope everyone has had a fab weekend (and all you lucky people who are still off today!) We had a lovely weekend, as it was our first wedding anniversary! :D Just hoping the next 17 weeks pass as quickly as this year has done lol!

We (sorry, I) am struggling to stop buying as well! We have our travel system here (so pram/buggy/car seat), and my 1 of my sisters is getting us a crib, so that's at my mums. I've been buying bits and pieces such as vests and sleepsuits when I've been doing the weekly shop at Tesco or Asda, so we don't have it all to buy in one go - and I think I'll get another pack of sleepsuits and that'll be it clothes wise (both granny's have their knitting needles out too!).

I've exchanged my clubcard vouchers for baby stuff, so those need using before July (I think) and we'll prob get bedding from those. I was going to buy a steriliser and bottles etc, but going to see how we go with BF first. No point spending money on stuff we aren't going to use.

The Tesco doubled-up vouchers work with the 3 for 2 on bedding as well bride2be, so they go a long way :)
  • Toothfairy4 - Yea it is exciting, baby just went crazy as hubby is doing a bit of DIY and put the hoover on and woah baby moved loads with the noise. As soon as the hoover stopped, so did baby, lol.

I'm jotting down all these little things in my bounty journal ready to transfer into my tiny tatty teddy keepsake book. I got two books from clintons in this range a few weeks ago as 2nd item was 50% off, I looked on ebay and clintons with the offer were cheaper. I only paid £17 for a keepsake book and a 152 page photo album.

The photo album has the scan photos and photos of me & bump from 4 weeks pregnant.

Oooh thanks, I was saving my tesco vouchers to double them up for baby stuff but didn't want to do it until after the scan, and then I forgot, you've just reminded me.

For those considering baby baths, here is one I bought for friends of ours and put toiletries, baby towels and flannels and a rubber duck in before wrapping with tissue paper, cellophane and blue bows and ribbons. They loved it and used it until their little one was 2 and a half. Its quite big but they just kept it in their bath in between uses. We were given a smaller one which was only suitable for 0-6 months so ended up buying a second one with a flat bottom to sit up in. Other people prefer bath seats etc but I tried one and it was hard to get DS out. Also time and water needed to fill a baby bath is much less.

DS was two yesterday and we had a great party in the garden for him (and us as we've survived another year of parenthood lol) Thank goodness for the sunshine- our October baby won't have the same typeof parties it'll be all play centres etc

Fluffsox - link didn't work for me. Do you know the name of bath? Sounded really good and I hadn't even thought about bathing! Thanks. :-)

Hi all hope everyone is well?

If you want a baby bath/ support without spending too much I highly recommend checking out car boot sales/ local selling sites. I paid £1.50 for ours, it was great as in the early weeks I struggled to bend so could wash my son on the dining table lol! I passed it onto a friend when he was 5 months as I prefered to use the kitchen sink or bath. I'll probably use the kitchen sink this time around.

Last time we bought a travel system that car seat went onto, I never used the car seat on it so it seemed such a waste. I'm going to wash the car seat we have but not worry about it fitting onto pram I'll probably just use the carrycot when taking baby out of car.

I went to my mums earlier and my TT perfect prep had been delivered Saturday! I wasn't expecting it to be back in stock for months. Not sure whether I should test it or what? By the time I need it 6 months warranty would have passed (and I had just a few issues with TT products in the past!)

Thanks for reminder of Tesco Clubcard Exchange I must find our vouchers.

Has anyone signed upto any baby clubs yet?

Can I ask what people would do in this situation regarding SMP and maternity leave?

To cut a long story short, I am on a fixed term contract at work, due to run out 30th July (so about 8 weeks before baby is due -baby due 20th Sept). After months of work messing me around (saying they will, then they won't, renew contract; only offering me 0 hour contract; trying to wriggle out of paying SMP), they finally confirmed to me today that my contract will end on 30th July, and that's it. Oh, and that they will be paying my SMP (yes, I know that already, you have to legally!!)

I was so fed up and upset with them today, I almost walked out there are then. Now I've calmed down a bit and spoken to DH, I'm thinking I should just start my maternity leave ASAP (that'd be 30th June), yet part of me thinks I should stick out July as well. It's not a nice atmosphere there just now, and I dread going in every day. The past few weeks have been awful as my boss seems to find fault in everything I do, despite the fact my work was always up to scratch before then.

So, what would you do? get out of there ASAP, or put up with it for the sake of another 4 weeks, knowing you don't have a job to go back to?
