Sounds like a real bargain! It's lovely. Isn't it so real when you start buying..I'm actually struggling to stop now. It's my first baby so I just don't know what I really need and what I don't. I'm trying to be thrifty though..hence taking advantage of the bank holiday offers!0 -
bangton, i know exactly what you mean, its our first aswell and its hard to control ourselves lol. Don't want to 'peak too early' and have nothing left to buy near the end iyswim? Hopefully going to browse some baby shops after the scan on thursday and fingers crossed buy something pink or blue
continualdiamond, it's so exciting isn't it? I hav just started to be able to feel movement from the outside, but everytime hubby puts his hand on my belly the wee rascal stops kicking lol!

Hmm, I'm still thinking I don't want to know! I'm more stubborn than OH so we probably won't end up finding out. Even though I sort of want to...0

congratulations Lozza!
nice scans Diamond
I have decided on the Maxicosi pebble car seat with a Familyfix base but don't want it all in the house until 30 weeks. I'm going to put a deposit down on a Mothercare Mychoice puchchair/ pram as it's the only one that'll take the car seat without adaptors.
I went to see my mates yesterday who were really taking the mick out of travel systems saying that the weight of baby+car seat was too heavy to transfer onto a pushchair frame. However my brother said it was useful for boot space as you could just shove the pushchair frame in
the boot and use car seat to make the buggy up.
Any thoughts on bathing / bath seats yet anyone?
I've decided on a moses basket and cotbed for sleeping.
No movement yet but as I have an anterior placenta that's to be expected. 21 + 20 -

Only 'thought' I've had so far is the tummy tub on Amazon. Not so much the thought of getting one, but one of the pictures cheers me up when I'm having a blue moment!0 -
Cooking kills bacteria- freezing doesn't sorry. (It kills dustmites on soft toys etc tho)
Just wanna clarify I was referring to raw fish in sushi. Just in case anyone was wondering. Yo Sushi is fine apart from their salmon as I did a bit of research, the freeze all of their fish apart from the salmon.

Regarding prams M&P is supposed to be fab for prams, but their delivery and customer service can be a bit lacking. My friend is due in 4 weeks and she ordered bedroom furniture for the bubs, 1st delivery the furniture was broken and bits missing, then 2nd delivery was cancelled and 3rd delivery it was still wrong. they sent her a text saying your delivery is due on ..... at ......?!?! I said at least they won't be late!
They refunded her £50 as she spent loads, but still not that impressed.Got married 13/11/10

Cleofish - the £39 is private. I think I'll opt for the £79 gender scan though as this is 2D plus 10mins in 4D. Will only do it once and I want to be sure of the gender - was told a boy last time and out popped DD2!
Our girls are 9 & 16 so need to practically buy everything as got rid of almost all our baby things over the years. Knowing will help us get organised.....plus I can't stand the suspense lol. Loving the links - saves me trawling through billions of pages of baby stuff!
Fluffnutter - I'm not sure I could justify head butting them but I was a little surprised!

Lola, doesn't sound like your friend had a very good experience with mama's and papas at all! Love going to browse their shop but unless they have offers on they seem to be a lot more expensive than some other places?0

I love those tummy tubs too! So cute! I didn't buy anything in the end though. Right from birth Freddie just went in the big bath. You don't actually need a baby bath so if space is limited (as it is in my house) it's one piece of baby kit you can do without. They outgrow them so quickly you're just left with a piece of plastic you've used about four times.
You can also use the kitchen sink if you think the bath's too big."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
