    A wise decision I think b2b.

Just a thought, this thread used to have a list of everyone's due dates and lily has just started a lit on the less than 12 weeks thread- why isn't there one on here now?

    Vic 13+6

Good idea vic, did there used to be one? Would make it easier to know how far along everyone is :)

I went back to page 1 and there was one there from 2011! Ok, if everyone is in agreement we can start one and everyone can add themselves as and when they get here.

!!!!!! the OH wants me to cut my maternity short so that he can take time off (APL) so I would have to juggle two kids, 2 college courses plus work. When at college the kids would be with me so he would just sit on his fat !!!! all day playing his computer.

All because he doesn't like his job fwiw I work in the same place. Then he goes in a bad mood when I point the above out. Then waves the cat in my face, it scratches me then basically says im making it up while im sat in tears!!

Am I being selfish? He would still expect me to deal with all the finances, housework etc? Its not like me taking 9 months off is going to make any difference financially!

Thanks sweaty Betty - SIL & BIL have been brought up being told what to do and see no problem with how she behaves although BIL was upset when she kicked off the day his daughter was born. My other SIL on hubby's side, thinks its disgusting and tells me to stand up for myself but I'm not confrontational and the one time I stood up to leave when she was bad-mouthing me, was when she hit me, in front of my 4yo - had minor internal bleeding for a week. Last year she opened up the fire guard and had our daughter standing against a real fire throwing wood on (my older child had a freak accident causing severe burns when she was little) so I stopped going round as had told her I didn't want Dd2 in fire. There are numerous incidents like this and hubby has asked his folks if we can sit down together and discuss it but she refuses. Meanwhile hubby goes round alone and my girls are left out of all family functions. X

Nikki - I don't have an answer for you, sorry but it sounds like our hubbies need a kick in the backside. My hubby works outside the UK so whenever he's gone I'm left doing everything plus working full time with 2 kids and bump. he wants to come home more but as work has only just picked up (barely anything last year and it put us in debt!) - i had to advise him that we need to be financially secure before baby comes or he won't be able to stay home when baby is born. He's agreed. Big hugs hun, you sound like you're trying to get things in order, like me. X

Yikes...no I don't think you are being selfish. I mean, you having a baby shouldn't be about him getting time off purely because he hates his job! If he wants to take APL then surely he should be responsible for new baby, finances and housework. Well, that's how it would be in my house anyway..I'm quite happy for my partner to take APL if he wishes ..it is his child and just as exciting for him but I'd be pigged off if he was doing it thinking it's just a nice way to get some time off to play computer games! :)

AFM, what a day. I've been up to hospital today due to pains and bleeding. It started last Tuesday whilst I was away and pain wise it's constant period like pain. I felt so bad on Sunday night I was going to call NHS Direct for advice. Turns out I could have just called the number on my pink notes as they are there 24 hours which I didn't realise! Anyway all's ok I have a cervical ectropian (something like that - I can scarcely read her writing and I forgot what she said!). Basically it just means I'm easily traumatised inside and may well suffer bleeding. The only downside being that I have to call them every time it happens to ensure it is that and nothing else and because nookie can cause it I may want to think about decreasing the frequency of that the further along I get, although medically I don't have to!

So anyway, that's good. I could feel baby moving throughout though, otherwise I'd have gone earlier!

Onto the subject of buying baby things - :D

Is it right you can put orders in with Mothercare and not pay until later? I don't want a finance type thing but I wanted to just select everything I wanted, order it and then pay perhaps in August (due 2nd October) so I just know what the lump sum is and can just clear it off, jobs a good 'un without buying bits here and there all the time (and thus losing track of my spending IYSWIM). Anyone done it? Anyone else provide it?

Thanks girls..hope your all well. Good luck for those having scans this week xx

Yes I think that is right. You can put it all on the baby plan and then either pay bits off over time or before its all delivered. Think you have to pay it at least a week before your delivery date (I may be wrong there).

After some opinions please. We still have the steriliser that we used for DS (who is 20 months old), it has been stored in a cupboard in the kitchen. Would it be ok to use again (obviously will give a good clean and descale it) or should we buy a new one? OH says it will be fine and that we should just buy new bottles but im not sure!

Thanks Flower! Sounds like a good plan!

Re the steriliser, I'm no expert but I'd just give it a good clean and re-use it. Is it an electrical one or microwave? Coldwater?

Its an electric one. Has been stored well in a bag in kitchen cupboard so doesn't look dirty or anything. Guess I am just worrying!
As OH points out we don't have loads of money to be spending so whatever we can re-use from DS we should do.

Another Lurker here :) (spend most of my time on the main pregnancy thread)

OH felt little one Kick yesterday :D Was so nice for him to finally feel it :D

RE the lists, I started a list on the less than 12 weeks thread but it got too depressing when people were having miscarriages and I had to remove their names :(
