I'm glad in a way that I told my workplace early as at least I haven't had anyone trying to guess to what's going on with me. Noone would guess from my bump (can't see it when I have my lab coat on), but my random eating habits would have been a giveaway, as well as dashing for the loo sometimes!

    Hi All
Well it's looking like I will be made redundant shortly - the company is centralising the team to head office which is miles away from where I live. it's a fair reason to get rid of us, so not a lot I can do, but it's not great timing. I'm not sure exactly of the timescales but I'm likely to be out the door before my qualifying week so I won't get any maternity pay, I'll have to claim maternity allowance. I'm more bothered about the big gap on my CV to be honest, when I am looking for another job in a year it won't look great that I've been out of work for that time.
Couldn't be worse timing really, as I know work have already replaced me with someone permanent in the London office, I could kick up a fuss and see if I get any compensation, but not sure how far that will get me.
Not sure what to do with myself for the next few months now, it's five months til I'm due and it's not really feasible to get another job with my health problems which will only get worse as the pregnancy progresses. I know a lot of people would kill for five months with nothing to do but when it's forced upon you like this, it's not pleasant!

Hope everyone else is doing ok and congrats on the scans.

What rubbish timing - but sounds like the plan up your sleeve could make a bad situation slightly better :)

I bought some comfy maternity bras in debenhams after pigpen reccomended them. Pick a blue cross sale day too for some money off :)

The best bras I found were the M and S total support (non maternity). They're the only ones that keep my udders from trying to escape - I didn't get on with the M and S maternity bras. I found the debenhams ones very tight around the chest, but then I'm quite big there so that could just be me.

    Oh how lovely! :)
Got 16 week appt tomorrow- going to the session at the hospital rather than docs to help avoid missing work. Good job as I had to miss part of the morning today to take my lil boy to A&E. He had a pulled elbow from playing with his dad last night. doc fixed it in seconds tho :)

    Thanks :)

The 16 week appointment is nice hearing the heartbeat for the first time :) I need to ring docs next week and book in for next midwife appointment not sure when it's meant to be as with last pregnancy I went to the hospital every 2 weeks from 12 weeks then every week from 30 weeks, so can't really remember what's the next normal appointment oh well sure docs will know. I've been given loads of maternity clothes and loads of sheets, babygrows, snow suits and a lovely mama and papas cot bed set.

Hope DS is feeling ok after his a and e trip fluffysox
