My sickness is over thank god but my hip is terrible, I can't walk but sitting and lying down is also painful. I'm not enjoying being pregnant and wish I wasPigpen - what did you do about your hips? I recall you posting about it recently?
On a good note I recommend h&m maternity tights/leggings and newlook jeans. Nice and comfy and don't look maternity!
I'm 20wks so 48hrs until my next scan. My OH doesn't seem concerned the nipper might not be there/no heartbeat/have a defectI'm very concerned until I get the all clear.
I'm also booking at 32wk 3D scan - my mum is coming and is very excited!
You can get wired nursing/maternity bras..I hate most styles as they are so unflattering and feel totally unsupportive.
I Drugged my hips and it is making no difference.. in other words I am putting up with it.. there isn't really anything they can do. OH had to uncross my ankles today because I couldn't lift my leg enough to get it off the other one .. I got it on but it wouldn't get off. You could request a physio referral and hope they are much more competent than here. I have crutches from last pregnancy which I am trying not to use and the elastic belt which causes more pain by putting pressure on bits that don't hurt and at night I drug myself.. co-codamol (hospital prescription) and diclofenac.
My scan is next Thursday.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Re the in between stage, I used a hair tie, just secured it to the button hole and then looped in however many times to be comfortable over the button.
I still do that, though only twice over the button now and then wear a bump band over the top of my jeans. That way no one sees an unzipped pair of jeans and makes me feel a bit more secure.
I picked up a pack of two for only £8 from asda.
They do look nice as it's not baggy so looks like you're wearing a vest top underneath your clothes.
I won't get away with this for much longer though, I'm 17+2 and the bands are the only thing maternity I have bought.
The bands I will continue to use probably with leggings I think as they have plenty of room for a growing bump.
I am looking forward to it being obvious I have a proper bump, rather than people wondering is she/isn't she.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Hello all - well I'm suddenly suffering and feeling very pregnant! I've had a cracking headache since this afternoon, am getting pain around my hip when I stand up (really hoping it's not the beginning of SPD) and look enormous.
I'm having twins (all being well) which is probably why I look about 5 months at 13 weeks, none of my bigger clothes (I lost weight before I got pregnant) fit me, but my old maternity clothes are at least one size too big so I'm holding my trousers up with a bump band
At the risk of asking a stupid question, is there anything I should/not be doing to try to prevent this hip pain getting worse? I'm thinking of going to aqua-natal (loved it last time, although for fun rather than because I was suffering) but I don't want to make it worse.0 -
Told my boss today, it went ok but she seemed really shocked! Thought it was better than potentially rocking up with a bump when I get back from my holiday at 16 weeks! Jealous of all those having their 20 weeks scans soon, time is dragging again now!0

P.s Betty just seen that you're having twins, double the excitement! Congrats0

:T Congrats on the twins !!!! How doubly exciting!
Pigpen - thank you...I didn't know you could buy underwired maternity bras. All my bits of info from midwife say no underwiring as it's bad for the tissue in your b00bies!
So far my baps haven't grown which is a relief as I'm concerned I'm going to be a walking pair of tits towards the end!0 -
I'm so thirsty...all the time. Anyone else?0

It is no more damaging to the insides than any other underwired bra. So long as it fits nicely it is fine.
I went from a 34D to a 36GG with most of mine and at 5ft 3 I looked ridiculous!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Twins! Congrats Betty! That was the second thing I worried about in the scan - 1. is it ok? 2. is there just one?! Haha.
Re. bump bands, I haven't bought any as I have a few extra long vest tops (primark and H&M) that go as low as my jeans fly, so I have just been wearing them to cover up the fact that my jeans are undone!!0
