Ooh congratulations Betty on twins, I seemed to miss that when you said you're scan went well! how exciting!
Thanks for the clothing advice ladies, have been trying the hair-band thing but its just not comfy and I'm worried that my jeans will fall down! I went on a nice wee shopping trip today and managed to find an incredibly comfy pair of under-bump jeans, another pair of leggings and a few really long vests so that will keep me going for a little while.
pigpen - hope you're feeling a little better now, I'd say take it easy but I don't think that's going to happen!
MV- saw your news on the big thread - congratulations :-)

Hi All
It's time for me to join you.
Had my scan yesterday - thought I was 12 + 2, but was dated as 13+1 so due date is 22 October.
I 'know' many of you from other threads so it's great to be here with you.
This is my first pregnancy after 18 months of trying & 4 cycles of Clomid. I'm 42 so feel this is my one chance at a baby.
So far, everything gone to plan. On/off 'anytime' sickness & headaches but nothing debilitating.
Anyone got any advice of where to buy plus size maternity wear? I'm size 20/22. So far I've only found Next. It's not an immediate need as thankfully I have lost about 7lb since being pg, but the time will come.0 -
Yay TTC40! Congrats on your scan :jmy dates got moved forward too it's a nice feeling isn't it?!
Clothes wise I HATE non wired bras I have decided. I bought two after reading advice and they are the most uncomfortable things on the planet! I am normally 34E and for now at least am sticking with my nice supportive wired bras
I am still wearing my normal work trousers but they are getting a little snug so bought some lovely next ones which are really soft and comfy so looking forward to wearing themAlso got two pairs of nearly new next maternity jeans from ebay for £18 so really chuffed with those, they fit really well but are a bit big around the bump area at the mo.
Got my combined downs test results today which was 1 in 36000. Was very pleasantly suprised seeing my age on its own gives a risk of 1 in 750 (I'm 31, will be 31 and 11 months at EDD)
Congrats Betty on double trouble! And pigpen hope your hips are giving you a break today......
Hugs to all those feeling pants and good luck to those with scans coming up. Take care ladies xx

Welcome TTC40
The main place I've found plus size maternity wear is simply be

How interesting. My risk was 1 in 25,000 with my age on its own being 1 in 800 and I will be 31 and 7 months come my due date. Amazing how they quote different figures.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

Morning all my all day all night sickness seems to have passed now.
I do have the occasional bout of sickness if i over eat or if i skip meals. Being very good and eating little and often.
Lots and lots of movements being felt by me getting stronger and stronger now. OH felt a wiggle last night
16+6 todaySometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

Hi everyone,
Had an awful night sleep last night. is anyone following the advice to not sleep on your back and sleep on your left side? Im 15 weeks this sunday and im trying to get into the habit for later on but all I want to do is sleep on my back now, but again sleeping on my back means I wake up with a really bad lower back.
Is it worth investing in one of those maternity pillows or is it too soon? Does anyone have any recommendations? Ive also been waking up with bad hips as well, so feel for anyone else, im starting to feel like an old woman with a bad back and hips
On a more funny note I went to the toilet early this morning came back to bed and was really hungry and my tummy rumbling, even though I had a normal tea last night and all I could think of to eat was crispy chicken skin with lots of pepper on! How weird is that? I even contemplated getting up and eating something, I think it was about 4am but I was too tired!

Hi cleofish - I bought a Dream Genie maternity pillow at about 14 weeks (I think). I was horrified at how much I spent on it at the time, but it's actually been a real help, it keeps you sleeping on your left side and generally I get a pretty good night's sleep. It took a bit of getting used to and some nights I would throw it out of the bed in a fit of rage (!) but now I use it every night. They are about £35-40 which is a lot of money, but worth it for a good night's sleep I think!
Alternatively, a long body pillow might do the trick and they tend to be not as expensive.0
