I either sleep on my back or on my right, almost onto my front. I slept on my front until about 16 weeks when the little blighter kept wriggling too much for me to fall asleep. I can't sleep on my left side, never have been able to.

I am in a right old grumpy strop today.. woe betide anyone who speaks to me I don't want to talk to.

I really hurt, and had the bright idea to walk to the shop and back without crutches.. I don't want to have to rely on them for the next 4-5 months, so I am refusing to use them.

I got some linen trousers at M&S with a stretchy back. Didn't fancy leggings as I don't like my legs so they were a good little find. I've also bought maternity jeans but in a size below what I normally wear so my belly kind of does fit in the panel (although I have to keep pulling them up) so i generally roll the panel bit down...so the jeans are still like pull on jeans. I got Verbaudet's straight leg maternity jeans and they are perfect a size too small for this stage!

I also have a skater skirt from Topshop and some peg leg pants from H&M that have stretchy waistbands.

Has everyone swapped to a wireless bra though? I just can't bear wireless. I have 34F boobs and wireless won't cut it! I think I'm going to ignore the advise!

What usually happens at a 16 week check up? Just had mine and it was blood pressure, a failed blood test ( have to go to path lab as midwife is terrible at taking blood ) and see you later...done in 5 mins! I was expecting more to be honest. Work colleagues tell me they had the baby's heartbeat listened to so I was all excited about it!

To be honest...my midwife has made me crabby. I didn't wee in a bottle she didn't provide me with and didn't tell me about so I'm always getting reprimanded for not doing this or that or having veins that she can get blood from (no one else struggles!)She is truly lovely but I think I would have continued to survive without having to leave work so early for the sake of 5 minutes with her!

    I'm such a git and yet I can't help myself!:o

I too HATE non wired bras and up until now had always had underwiring but a friend of mine frightened me into switching to non wired after stories of cysts and mastitis. I am now wearing non wired, but I do find them uncomfortable and I am forever wiggling my hand under my shirt to adjust them a bit.
Pigpen - where sells maternity/nursing ones with underwiring??

    Here.. Here..

There are also some on Amazon. I just googled it but I tend to stick with figleaves I like their customer service.

I like the hotmilk ones best.. they are really nicely made and pretty too

I'm having trouble sleeping too and finding a good maternity bra! I usually sleep on my front as its the only way i can get to sleep but always wake up in the morning on my back or right side with a sore b00b! I guess you can't fully control your sleeping movements. Any one else had continuing stomach cramps?the weird twinges went away after a few days, and now it feels like there's something heavy low in my stomach and the pains are more like spasms. Wish I could relax and enjoy it all but I'm such a worrier!

    Hi everyone,

Had an awful night sleep last night. is anyone following the advice to not sleep on your back and sleep on your left side? Im 15 weeks this sunday and im trying to get into the habit for later on but all I want to do is sleep on my back now, but again sleeping on my back means I wake up with a really bad lower back.

Is it worth investing in one of those maternity pillows or is it too soon? Does anyone have any recommendations? Ive also been waking up with bad hips as well, so feel for anyone else, im starting to feel like an old woman with a bad back and hips :)

On a more funny note I went to the toilet early this morning came back to bed and was really hungry and my tummy rumbling, even though I had a normal tea last night and all I could think of to eat was crispy chicken skin with lots of pepper on! How weird is that? I even contemplated getting up and eating something, I think it was about 4am but I was too tired!

I didn't even know about this sleeping thing. I sleep on my side anyway but occasionally end up on my back. As for night time cravings.... I've been getting up to suck on Lemons. I just love Lemons! !! And strawberries and rocket leaves. Baby's obviously on a health kick lately because all I craved prior to this was junk food, milk and cheese strings. My partner keeps waking up to these slurping sounds while I suck away on my Lemons! !! :D

Knock knock!.........Hello can I join here now? I'm 12+6, due 27 October. Had scan Monday and all is well. My fifth pregnancy (had one, lost one x2) but this will (hopefully) be my third earth baby after 7yrs of trying! Feel like I'm getting too old for this now at 36, compared to being 20 & 27 previously! Xx

Hello. Can anyone tell me if I still need to take any pills now? I know I can stop folic acid and vit D but not sure if I have to take anything else. The large pills (bullets I call them) make me heave. Thanks x

  • Im 17+1 and stopped taking the folic acid and vit D about 3 wks ago as i was sick everytime i took it. Cant say theres any science in it but im less sick now ive stopped it.
Folic acid is a must until 12 wks and vit d they advise for the whole pregnancy.
I just make sure i eat fortified cereals and eat a well balanced diet to make up for the lack of tablets.

Baby bean is very active on a night here looking forward to my 20 wk scan i didnt want to know the sex to begin with but my OH wants to know so we are going to find out if poss then keep it a secret.
Been picking names but i keep changing my mind i do like Xavier or Anakin but hes not keen lol.
Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

not Anakin.. it sounds awful when you shout it in the park. There was a little boy with that name at church source of much mickey taking from mean adults and children alike. Children pick on anything and that is asking for trouble. His mum was totally deaf so hadn't a clue what was being said behind her back.. :(

OH won't even discuss names again. :(
