Managed to get a few bits of new clothing this weekend. I got lots of long stretchy vests from Primark. I highly recommend these - good fit and £2.50 each.
The local Next didn't stock maternity wear but New Look & H&M both did. I got a nice pair of over the bump maternity chinos from H&M. Didn't really like New Look's range. Maybe a bit too young!
I also bought a maternity dress for work from Red Herring @ Debenhams but this is really loose on the bump so might have to keep it for later.
At 18+4 I feel like I'm at an awkward stage! My bump is starting to appear so is making anything with a waistband, particularly trousers, very uncomfortable but I don't seem ready for proper maternity wear. I picked up a couple of cheap stretchy jersey-type dresses from Asda to wear to work in the interim. They feel comfortable and hopefully will last until I've got a full-on bump!0 -

I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow. I found maternity clothing shopping to be a nightmare. I absolutey hated it. Red Herring at Debenhams was/is my lifesaver. Also, if you go on the clearance section on the Next website you will find lots of maternity clothing there as well (I don't see the point in paying full price for something that we are only going to be wearing for a few months). You can opt for free delivery to your local store. Now, I hate shopping for maternity clothes online but Next refunded my money promptly whenever I needed to return things.0 -
I have no jumpers and my coat is too tight
.. I put my old parka on on Saturday thinking it was roomier than my usual coat and i could barely fasten it... I'm 17 weeks !!!!!!!!! I did find a mint aero and the key to the sweetie cupboard so it was not all bad news! I am spending all my time in pjs and vest tops.. I am not only freezing but can't go out either.. if I do it is leggings and my vest top and my coat to noone can see I look like a wrapped sweet!
I woke up this morning to a massive baby mountain poking itself out of the top of my tummy.. and accompanied by a couple of little kicks was quite cute. I've been so busy the last few days I've barely felt any movement.
Once I have finished with the decorating I shall be sorting out the baby stuff.. I am considering seeing if I can get a gender scan booked asap.. so I can get the stuff sorted and start my knitting frenzy.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I've found the majority of maternity clothes out there to be pretty damn ugly. I found some nice tunics in mantaray (non maternity) which I got in the size up, will wear with maternity leggings hopefully will last until my bump is sizeable.
Since I was last pregnant a lot of the high st retailers have stopped selling maternity clothes in store, you have to go on line. We're not that rare a breed, I'm not sure why the bigger stores can't have a few lines in them.
Red herring seem the best of a bad bunch, there are some other nice places but they're really expensive for something I'll only wear a few months.
Last time I ended up getting a few things on ebay ,it's a gamble but you can always sell on the things that don't work.
Just wish this cold weather would stop so I can put my winter woollies away now, bored of them and they're getting tight!0 -
OK I've not posted for a while as i've not been on while on my computer (but i've still been following on my phone).
I'm 18 weeks today and i'm not sure if I am feeling the baby move. For about the last 20 minutes i've had what feels like something poking me from the inside about an inch down and slightly to the left of my belly button. It doesn't hurt, it's more twingey. Does anyone think it could be the babyor is it more likely to be wind
?

I am 25 years old, Newly married and almost 14 weeks pregnant
I am yet to have my scan and can't really believe i am expecting.
In the past i have had severe depression and I feel it has reared its ugly head again. everytime I am upset I get an urge to self-harm and the only thing stopping me is what if the midwife sees anything and reports me.... I really want to be a good mother and overcome this but sometimes I just feel helpless...i am worried that the amount of stress and upset I feel will be harming the babys development...
anxious and in need of help
I am probably not the best person to post as there are lots more experienced advisers on here, but as this thread is a bit quiet at the moment I didn't want to read and run!
I am sorry to hear you have suffered severe depression in the past. Try not to be too harsh on yourself as your emotions and hormones will be all over the place at the moment. Is there anyone you can talk to about how you are feeling? Your OH, parents, friends? Have you told anyone you are pregnant yet? Do you think you could speak to your midwife/GP and ask if there is any counselling availableor any other support? I am sure you are not alone in how you are feeling and there must be help out there. As for your baby, I am sure you have a little fighter in there who can't wait to be born, and will always love you just for being it's mum and trying your best taking each day as it comes.0 -

It's quiet on here.
I had my 20 week scan. Baby is fine. I have an anterior placenta which explains the lack of movement being felt. That's made me feel better. The baby was a right fidget, but couldn't feel a thing. Oh well.
My cyst is still there. She thinks it's an endrometrioma. I'll see what the consultant says in a couple of weeks, but the sonographer reckons they will rescan after birth and go from there. In the mean time if it bursts it should hurt like hell and I'm to go to A&E!!
There must be some of you with 20 week scans coming up soon...Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
I'm 16+5 today and am still sick a lot.
I'm still in all my normal clothes and don't feel pregnant which is rubbish! I wish I had even a small bump - I feel like I am making it all up at the moment
To the lady who feels very down - I've been extremely upset most days, inconsolably sobbing most nights with worries about the baby/future/money/parenting/being good enough. I recommend talking to your midwife and/or partner. Both of mine are really helping and I'm starting to see the wood from the trees.
Although at times I think my boyfriend must feel he's got his own practice toddler in situ!If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
13+2 and still feeling sick and now uncomfortable like i dont fit inside my own body
Still constipated. Managed to go out for lunch sunday without being sick yesterday.
Im glad we have snow here so i can just stay in my pjs all day just a shame the kids are off school and get bored quickly.Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait
