Does anybody else notice the bump/baby having a sudden growth spurt? Up until now it's been so steady I haven't really noticed except just generally getting bigger and bigger. But this morning I woke up feeling a bit achy round my sides, and suddenly my bump is ENORMOUS!! I feel like it's doubled overnight! All filled out around the sides!0

See you there in 2 weeks!
Does anyone else feel like nothing much is happening appointment -wise at this time, like i had my scan at wk 20 but i havent got another MW app for about another month!seems like a while with no check up really!
Mogwai the icandys are so lush!! which one are you thinking?Think the Peach is most popular round here. I would defo consider them if they weren't so bloody expensive and I do really like the Babystyle just as much.
Oh and I had a cupcake with butter cream for my breakfast today( well kinda breakfast-after my sleep after a night shift) I believe in eating what you like, when you like!
dippy I am thinking of getting the icandy apple or peach mainly cos they come in 3 wheeler and you can add a second seat later on (planning the second already!) :rotfl: I dont get why people go for the black ones though, when you can such lovely colours
I actually really like the folding mechanism of the icandy strawberry but you cant turn that one into a double
I should just go for the baby jogger as it is so light, handles so well and folds in 1 sec but the colours are really uninspiring..
Gonna test them out at the baby excel show this weekend if they have it! :j
V-day for me today! Next milestone is start of third trimester :T
mrsj I do notice when I feel achey/stretchy around the belly is when I get a growth spurt, but I do also get days when I suddenly look a lot smaller (for a few hours!)We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

Good luck to everyone who is moving up to the next thread!
I actually bought some of the maternity jeans from New Look this week - tried on in the shop but the legs were WAY too long (I'm only 5'2" so I'm short!) so I bought online reduced to £11.99 - fantastic (although have to spend over £19.99 for free delivery to store!) I can't see me having any more after this one so I really don't want to spend a fortune getting new clothes but I really miss my jeans! Have given in to leggings since last week and while they are much more comfortable I just don't feel right in them.
I went for the triple test yesterday so just have to wait 2 weeks for the results. Was booked in to the gestational diabetes clinic as well so all checked over - BP is great and have put on a kilo so far. I was also given a scan, baby is doing well, very active and measuring spot on for my dates so I'm a very happy mummy! I'm having to attend the clinic every 2 weeks so I actually feel like I have too many appointments, yesterday was my 3rd scan and I'm 16+2 (haven't needed any emergency appointments) I keep telling DH that he doesn't need to come to hospital with me as I'm not going to get scanned so he's missed 2 scans, although I did have our girls with me last time so they got to see baby and were delighted. Have been told they won't need to scan me for 5 weeks, so DH has been told he is definitely coming to that one!Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0 -
Hello! Meant to pop by yesterday, but was super busy. 20 week scan went great! Baby is growing well and everything looked fine!
We also found out the gender! Even if we had wanted a surprise we wouldn't have been able to as baby was qiute proudly showing off that he's a boy!
The midwife was going to check the gender at the end of the scan, but right away hubby spotted that it was a boy and then MW confirmed at the end that he was right! Can't believe I'm going to have a son! It makes it seem even more real and a bit scary. But the important thing is that all baby's little structures were all looking good!
When we were on the way in for the appointment there was a woman getting wheeled past us in the midst of what I can only guess was a very strong contraction. She was screaming her head off and it totally freaked me out!Poor woman! Can't believe I will actually have to squeez this baby out in just over 19 weeks. OMG!!!

Don't worry about it.. screamers are in the minority.. there really is no need for it.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Great news lovecake, so pleased scan went well!0

Oh I really hope I am not in that minority! I think she was properly in full blown labour. They rushed her in, in a wheelchair. The midwife was saying don't bother with assessment, go straight to the labour suite and was asking the panic stricken Dad if he had locked the car. I think it was one of those 'just in the nick of time' situations!
I'm praying I don't have a birth like my poor Mum! Her womb wasn't fully contracting so got sent home and just had to deal with it for 3 days. When she finally got to go back in I was back to back and then in the end they delivered me by forceps!! Ouchy!
I just need to stay positive and determined and believe that I can do it!0 -
Thanks mrsj!0

Had a midwife appt today (think mine are at odd times due to being under consultant care)
She is really pleased with everything being normal and she explained the blood antigens to me so I actually understand it now!
And I heard the heartbeat for the very first time! It was amazing considering the consultant never did it at 16 weeks.
So happy nowNew first time mummy to a gorgeous little boy!
