I've got an anterior placenta too, though it's high up. I've been feeling movements since about 14 weeks (24 weeks today), but only low down and DH hasn't felt any yet. We seem to be having the same problem we had with DS - whenever I say "oo, the baby's moving" and DH puts his hand on my bump, the baby promptly stops!

This still happens most of the time!! Occasionally DH chooses the right moment and the baby kicks, or he is very patient and has to sit there with his hand on my bump for ten minutes!
  • I'm still only feeling flutters and really anxious for proper kicks, especially for OH.

Had an awful day today...sick, lost prescription and had a bad fall :( spent all afternoon in bed
  • Ive only started to feel proper kicks in the past week or 2, mostly when sitting down amd quite low down. I think the girl said my placenta looked fine at scan and was out of the way, whatever that means. Oh sparkles you poor thing, what happened re the fall? Rest up and get dh to look after you x

  • I think it was a combination of dizziness and strong winds. Have banged my knee and twisted my foot. Fell in a strange position, must have been protecting bump

When we were on the way in for the appointment there was a woman getting wheeled past us in the midst of what I can only guess was a very strong contraction. She was screaming her head off and it totally freaked me out! :( Poor woman! Can't believe I will actually have to squeez this baby out in just over 19 weeks. OMG!!!

When I was having eldest I had appointment but woke up in labour, rang them to explain but was told to keep appointment in case it was a false alarm and as it was Good Friday it would be a nightmare sorting me out with a new appointment the following week after public holiday. I ended up sitting in the antenatal clinic, having contractions but I was terrified of freaking out the women in the clinic - I was actually sitting, waiting to go in for scan when the doctor came out, took one look at me and said "I don't need to scan you at all, do I?"!

Although the only time I let out a yell was when the doctor was trying to cannulate me, he explained about sharp scratch etc and came over to me, I let out a yell and he scolded me "Mrs L, I haven't even got the needle near you." I through gritted teeth replied "But you're on my effing toe."

    Sparkles - hope you're ok.

I was actually saying to dh last night that I haven't felt baby move yet, I'm pretty sure I'd felt girls by this stage.

  • Recovering from fall, thankfully it's just a very bruised knee and swelling in foot has gone down.

Hosting my baby shower today, although friend is running the show, thankfully. I now know why I normally go to parties, rather than host them! Have spent the last two hours cleaning, even though it was all done on Wednesday and now need to do a last minute run for cups and plates as I realised we only have six and I can't be bothered with washing them up!

Hi everyone. I've moved over here from the less than 12 week thread as has my scan yesterday and everything was fine! I'm now 12+6 and the pregnancy symptoms are starting to fade a bit which is very nice! I didn't expect to be showing this early but I'm getting a definite bump now. Look forward to chatting with you all :)
