Ahh thanks Sparkle! Not posted in here before, I had my scan on Friday and was put foward a bit so I'm 13 weeks tomorrow. It still doesn't feel real :-)0
-
Room for another?
I was scanned today at what I thought was 12 weeks but is in fact 13 weeks. Relieved to be in the second trimester, it all seems real now I've seen the photographic evidence that there's a wrigglepants baby in there :-)0 -
Welcome to all of the newcomers! Don't forget to pop over to the main pregnancy thread and put your name on the EDD list - it's a bit busier than this thread but they give lots of good advice over there!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0

Another one here for back pain! GP told me its sciatica, Im having trouble sleeping, I wake when I need to turn over and have now taken to sleeping with a pillow between my knees, not sure if its helping yet tho, I keep waking up with it on the floor!
Im waiting to be referred for physio, and really trying to stop sitting with my legs crossed as MW says this makes it worse. I find sitting in a hard back chair helps, and I now have to make sure I get out of the car 2 feet first rather than twist. But thank you for posting the tips, i'll def have a go at some of the excerises.
Welcome to all the newbiesLiving as simply as we can

another one here with back pain, 15 weeks and since ive already got a scuppered back - 2 corroded disks i was just told as long as i can keep going to do so
only thing is, when my back flares up as it feels like its going to, the only that helps are knock out drugs lol, and there is no chance of taking those with Elvis sitting there so im just going to see how it goes, if its gets much worse ill be asking for a physio refferal but since im new to the area i have no idea how good Northampton NHS is.
BCS Hope all is well and Sparkle hope your mum gets good news!
I post more on the big thread but read here a lot more than i post so will make more effort to say hi

I had awful SPD with the baby and I am about 10-11 weeks and already suffering with back and hip pain (i have arthritis in my hips and legs too) I had the referral to physio made at my booking appointment because it was so bad last time I think I would actually die if it was that bad again.. I couldn't sleep or walk or even go for a poo last time, I don't think I could cope with that again.. and having to lug the baby around is already making things worse. I am clicky and grindy already.. The referral was actually made this time though which they neglected to do last time despite my GP requesting it! So I was informed it is about 4-6 weeks waiting list so I should still be able to walk thenLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Caroline -I know about the not feeling real, and I'm 22 weeks! The scan the pic does help doesn't it... plus when you feel the baby's butterfly flutters that's really helpful to make is real! That happens on average week 18-22 depending on the mum's body/whether they've had kids before etc...
Welcome Leandygandy, Puzzled and Familyreder - definately always room for more! As Apricot mentions, do come over to the main thread, lots't to talk about and you learn more about what ladies are going through a month or two ahead, to prepare us for what's coming, as time flies!
Puzzled, Pookie and Pigpen, shame there can be no drugs to help, here's to hoping symptoms subside! I am sleeping with a pillow between legs and it also tucks under my tummy for support, I find it comforting. Has to be to the right hand side as recommended so the only disadvantage is that it separates OH and I a bit but what can we do if left side is off the cards...
Managed to get a Baby Bjorn Carrier in navy blue on ebay last night for £12.99 + £2.99 postage, very happy with that seeing as they're £55-£70 new and suitable from birth. You must watch the slightly cheesy short video on the Amazon link!
Also as they're only used for around 8 months on average, no way I was paying the new price, but they do have fab reviews. Anyone else getting a carrier of any sort? Seems to free up your hands so much more so I def wanted one. Lots more closeness and ability to go out and about without pram as we're on a little bit of a steep hill. Plus can't wait to see OH in it, he will look so cute and I will have to fend women off!:):)

I was looking at those carriers on eBay too, sparkle. I really like the look of them but couldn't believe the new price! My sis used a carrier and think it may be similar so will see if I can nab it otherwise will be hunting on eBay like you. She found it great when baby was whiny and could carry everywere around the house but still get on with things. I've heard great things about the slings which are just big bits of fabric too.0

Sparkle Im thinking of getting a sling too Have a look at http://www.slingmeet.co.uk/ - if there is one near you you can go along and try out other people's slings. The Ring Slings are the ones which are just bits of fabric and I love the idea of those and they can be used until baby is quite big too.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0

Tw1light and Apricot - yes they're def time savers plus allow for extra bonding, so I'll see how I get on I guess... The sling meet sounds good, a chance to try before you buy, but now I've bought will just have to see! Good luck T hope you can save some pennies with the one your sis has - if not maybe try the sling meetings if you have one locally as Apricot says?
If you do go for the Baby Bjorn, they seem to retail for an average £18-£20, good resell value later too so I am hoping I'll get most of my £16 back... unless bubs #2 is being discussed by then:):)
