    Hi everyone,

Good luck for scans coming up!

Ecoelle please get some advice as surely they have to follow due process and not just leave you assuming you will lose your job. Try Googling Dawn Advice, I got some free advice from them once, as I found I could never get hold of citizens advice as they were so busy.

Sequeena re: bump size, I am quite small still too and only just now at the cusp of 22 weeks needing proper maternity clothes, so don't worry yourself, we're all very different - as you have seen ranging from someone being huge at 13 weeks to not so much even at the 20 week mark.

Got some prefold small size nappies from Freecycle, bag of around 20, so must have saved us about £60, have watched the Youtube instructions from the NappyLady site and *seems* easy enough...

Hubby finally fely Sweetpea move yesterday, he was chuffed to bits! I think he thought it would be firmer and slower but for now it's light little ripples but he is very happy to have finally felt something. First thing seems to be best when bubs is very awake at the same time as we get up.
I had a horrible dream last night about us being on a tour bus with pram and going to check on bubs under lots of layers, and him not being there - we were so scared and paranoid to find him, woke up feeling awful. Then around 7ish I chatted my usual morning chatter to bubs and he gave me lots of kicks, it was funny like he knows my voice now and that I was talking to him! So very cute I felt instantly better - like he was saying 'see mummy, I'm still here, I didn't go missing!'.

Anyone thinking of getting baby carriers - if so which brand?

Also - any thoughts on whether under or over bump is best for clothes? I am worried that over bump will be too hot in Summer...

Thanks Claireloo, I guess it must be normal then? Hope so! How are you doing?

I'm great thanks just waiting for the scan now next Friday (1st). We're going to a nearly new sale this Saturday - I'm not sure what to expect and still don't really feel right buying too much stuff but I guess its a good idea to go along and see what its all about.

Sparkle I currently have one over the bump & one under the bump pair of jeans but I find the under bump ones fall down all the time. Hopefully when I get a bit bigger they will stay up better but im not entirely convinced tbh!

Thanks Apricot it's just that the Red Herring jeans I got from Debenhams yesterday were £32, so I am tempted to return them if they're going to be useless! Being 5'1 doesn't help, as they are all way too long most times anyway... and all stores sizes differ as well... so annoying. OK, rant over :D
I am wearing my new bargain £9 wrap dress today and at this rate will live in this sort of dress all Summer (sadly maxi dresses that others have mentioned would be weird on me as I am too short :o)

I'm the same Claireloo - there was a nct sale this weekend but I resisted because there's another in June so I'm aiming for that one. We are hopefully finding out the flavour next week, are you? We weren't going to but my control freak streak means I have too! Are you?

Apriot I'm sure you'll get used to having a pink bump soon but you've has 20 weeks of it so it's no surprise. I've got a bump too but I'm not as far as you so god knows what your friends would say to me!

With maternity clothes I've got both over and under bump and I find over more comfortable so far. As you say, I'm not sure if that'll change once the weather heats up? Practically nothing normal fits me now so I look like my wardrobe consists of about 3 outfits, at a push!

I braved a bikini wax this weekend and it was he'll but I feel so much better for it now. I've even painted my nails so I must be feeling more lively at last!

    Who's next for the scan?

Hi Jcr, you're exactly a week after Claireloo and I. Surely we're not the next ones?! Your family day out sounded great, I can't wait until I can report similar weekends (Obv lots of baby friendly ones before!).

I've been getting hip joint pain on one side when I walk. Poor you, perhaps you should speak to someone.

Anderson & Doglover I have hip and back pain. When I mentioned it to my MW she told me that only if I was having pain daily would she refer me to a physio. I am now having this daily (some nights I am literally hobbling around the house like quasimodo) & can't even turn over properly in bed so will inform her of that at my next appointment. She told me it sounds like SPD - I just checked this on Babycentre:
    What are the symptoms?

Pain in the pubic area and groin are the most common symptoms. But you may also have the following signs:
    • Back pain, pelvic girdle pain or hip pain.
    • A grinding or clicking sensation in your pubic area.
    • Pain down the inside of your thighs or between your legs. It can be made worse by parting your legs, walking, going up or down stairs or moving around in bed.
    • Worse pain at night. It can stop you sleeping well and getting up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night can be especially painful.
