Just popping in, we bought quite an expensive travel system, and people said we would regret it but I never have. He'l be one in a week and I still use it everyday. It was the only pram I loved, and I uhm-ed and ahh-ed about it but eventually went for it. He slept in the carry cot for the first few months (we bought the sleep mattress for it) as he preferred it to his crib.
We do walk everywhere though or get public transport so there is no need for us to fold it up or fit it into a car boot. It's so comfy and cosy looking, the wheels are large so it seems like a real smooth ride and he really enjoys being in the pram. It's also still parenting facing while in the pushchair which we both like.
If I had to fit it in a car and out, I'd have gone for the bugaboo beeits also nifty for public transport as its small.
I think you're best going for the pram you really like, as for me it's used to often. I compare myself to others who are now on there 2nd or 3rd pram as they keep buying ones that after a few weeks use they find things they dislike.
Do go to a shop though and try them all out, push them, unclip it all, take it down, put it up. Find one that works best for youThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Dida, we had a Jane Slalom R with Matrix seat (like this one) OK, it's not terribly cheap, but for that price it does include the car seat. The Matrix seat can be used upright, or flat like a carry cot - and straps in the car either way, which is handy if you need to do a long journey with a tiny baby. It is quite big and heavy, but it's really easy to push - even off-road. I loved it and am actually really looking forward to using it again
That version of the Matrix seat isn't compatible with Isofix, if that was what you were after. But I've a feeling they've just brought out a newer version of it which you can get an Isofix base for. Personally, I found it easy enough to just strap it in the car with the seatbelt.
It's not as massive as you might think when folded and was only just too big to go in the boot of my Mini. We did buy a stroller when DS got bigger, mainly so we'd have one that fit in the Mini, but we still used the Slalom a lot.
And I'm pretty sure when we got ours, there was also a green version
It's definitely a good idea to go to a shop and have a play. We considered a different Jane buggy which would have fit in the Mini and we did end up buying a cheap one on Ebay. But I didn't like it at all and used to borrow DH's car so I could take the Slalom out! We gave the other buggy to SIL when she borrowed the Matrix seat for her youngest and we won't be asking for it back. The Mini has been replaced with a Yummy-Mummy-Wagon with a HUGE boot so I'll be using the Slalom all the time with this babyYou can do anything, make anything, dream anything. Socks for newborns are a pain as they just will not stay on!
Better to put them in babygro's with feet attached.
I never bothered with socks until DS was a few months old.
Scratch mitts are a good idea though as baby's have a habit of scratching their faces to pieces!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Bounty says Boy for me but I'm only just June and if I put July it says Girl!
I'm not planning on getting socks for newborn, it'll hopefully be warm so going to stick with baby grows with feet and hand covers0 -

It is such a mindfield out there. My OH is busy researching travel systems at the mo. He is more than happy to investigate the big ticket items. I'm a bit reluctant because I'm still worried that something will go wrong.
I do want to try cloth nappies but I think that we will use disposable for the first few weeks before trying them at home.
I'm confused about dummies. Some people swear them and others don't. I don't know what to do. I keep thinking about those who tell me that they give babies buck teeth.
Ohhh I am such a novice!!! Why can't babies come with an instruction manual?? lol0 -
Which one did you get Gilly? A lot of people round town have the Icandy Peach but blimey with carrycot, footmuff etc it comes to about 900! I have thought about the Silver Cross Linear Freeway and a Babystyle oyster-which do do a Lime green colour pack ihatedida.
Bigbird what about Niamh but spelled Neave, it still looks pretty and people defo know how to say it!
I have done the Bounty predictor and it says GIRL!! But then i changed to my age to what I will be when i give birth and it said BOY! LOL. I will stick with girl and will not be finding out at scan so a long wait! Also not really a bump yet to analyse but I guess fancying more sweets and eating about 3 nectarines a day!
Snozberry BBGP = Boy (correct)
IHateDida BBGP = Girl (correct)
*BigBird* BBGP = Girl (?)
mrsj28 BBGP = Girl (?)
MV BBGP = Girl (? but willing to eat hat if it is!)
mogwai BBGP = Boy (?)
pippa80 BBGP = Boy (?)
dippydooda BBGP = Girl (?)0 -
I have the Mamas and Papas Mylo in Black Jack. I know it's half price at the moment as is the carry cot. It's suitable from birth. I love it, it's so easy to push and can be pushed one handed. I don't think I could have picked better for my needsThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Oh i love the Mylo!!it's so funky! But they don't have the matching carrycot to match the colour I like!otherwise i would defo snap it up now in the sale, I want the creamy colour.0
-
That's a shame. We originally ordered the dove grey and cream, but I thought about it and realised I'd want to use it for more than one baby and wondered how dirty the cream would get so we changed it to black
At the time we wanted the lime green but it didn't come with the black, only the welly green which we didn't like. A month after he was born they brought out the lime green and black, typical
