  • Evening ladies, I'm now 15+ 3. I'm shattered, I'm sick every morning I'm just about eating dairy now but apart from that I feel fine. :/ I hope it gets better. Looking forward to the January sales as I've been given permission to buy a few cute baby things.
I don't often return to a thread I've posted on so.... if you want to ask me about anything I've written please pm me- I don't bite.

    Hi everybody :hello:

Just wanted to let you know I had my '16 week' appointment this morning (even though I'm only 14 +2) and we heard the baby's heartbeat :T It was amazing, the midwife warned me it might take a little bit of time to find it but as soon as she put the doppler on my stomach we could hear it! Wish I could go and hear it every day :o

It's nice to know everything is going well just before Christmas as I had started to get a bit anxious again about things.

Hope everybody else is well - not too long to go until Christmas now, I've booked next week off work and am really looking forward to the break. I think I'll be working flat out until then - my boss has just randomly employed somebody new to start TODAY and I have to train her... just when I thought I could have a few days winding down to Christmas...

Evening ladies and welcome to all the newbies :)

I'm so tired at the moment, struggling with my hours at work and the drive so am really looking forward to next week as am only working on Monday. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little easier too as will be working at home. My manager is being very supportive and has given me some projects to work on which gives me the option to do it at home. Also trying to train a locum to in my role and each day realise another aspect of that will need covering, not all of which can be done by a locum.

Hey ho! DH is being so supportive at the most, I feel very lucky to have him.

  • hi, im getting kicked in bladder as we speak and its horrible , i really do hate that feeling!!

having one of those days i think!! im out tomrow night with friends for a posh meal and disco after, so order myself a lovely new maternity dress , tights and shoes from asos, paid for next day delively aswell , it came, ive just tried it on and i ordered a 12 , it say size 12 on the bag , but no in the label its a 14 and it to big, im so gutted as i havent got time to go out 2 morow now , ive sent them a email, telling them what i think, in a nice way.

    hows everyone else??
  • Well done for telling them what you think Helen... Its little things like attention to details.

I quite agree about kicks to the bladder.... Its awkward at work when you've just been to the loo and baby kicks your bladder and you need to rush back to the loo! On the plus side, at least baby is doing well and being active - each day is another closer to V day and a take home baby x

I don't think we'll bother with antenatal classes this time as it's only a couple of years since we last did them. But I did find them very useful last time. You can find out loads of info on the net, but I found things like the practice in different positions for birth and things like that really good. We also met a really nice group of people who we're still in touch with 2 years later. They were invaluable for support in the early days.

We did NCT classes, which turned out to be a good thing because my community midwife team was so disorganised that we never got the opportunity to do the NHS ones. I'm not sure what the difference in the actual information you'd get would be.

Oddly, I'm finding I tend to feel really tired in the afternoons, but am fine in the evenings. I could honestly have a nap around lunchtime. I work from home so might get away with it, but it would be just my luck for my boss to phone while I was snoozing :o

  • Hi ladies, hope its okay to join you as I'm 12+5 now and scan showed all is well.

I'm due to see my midwife again at 16 weeks, anything in particular I need to know for that appointment? I'm hoping the sickness would have eased by then!

We're telling a few more family members on Christmas Day so hope the news goes down well!
  • I should probably jump ship too from the less than thread, Im 13+1, I've been out buying maternity jeans this morning, mine are getting so tight when i sit down so its nice to have some comfy ones! I will prob lurk here for a while unless i have a silly question to ask as its too soon for movements and Im focussing on my next appt at 16weeks. Hope everyone is well and hi to sparkles :-)
