Anyone else experiencing this? I have got Gaviscon, not even bothering with the spoon now, swigging it straight from the bottle  it's driving me mental. It doesn't matter what I eat, or even if I eat, I wake up with it, I go to bed with it...arrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhh and another thing it's only in my throat!!! Maybe I should be grateful for thatI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Taadaa go to your doctors they can prescribe you something to help. It gets worse as the baby gets bigger and squashes everything upwards.
As for cervix my little boy seems to like sitting on my sciatic nerve and kicking down so I often have achy passages both front and back. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Le doc gave me the gaviscon. I've got back problems and muscle problems as well, he won't give me anything, told me to take paracetemol. Fair enough if I can't take it, he is a bit of a carp doctor though. Told me I might have chicken pox at 9 weeks and sent me home. Worst thing he could have done, was an allergic reaction and got rushed to hospital the next day. And he told my neighbour that her leg mole was nothing to worry about - turned out to be malignant melanoma - cancer, in other words!I have had many Light Bulb Moments. Sadly I live in a village, the other one isn't taking on any patients. I could go further afield I guess, but am worried about having to make a journey when I'm feeling rough.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

TaaDaa I would change doctors, that sounds terrible. My GP has been amazing I registered with him when I was 17 weeks told him about the problems I was having as I have a spinal condition as well and he rang the hospital and got me an urgent referral to physio. I've also been exposed to Slapped Cheek and Chicken Pox whilst pregnant and he was super efficient organising blood tests and even ringing me after surgery hours to check I was ok and not panicking too much. They can give you codeine for the pain that's safe to take in pregnancy. I would defo try and find a new GP though hun.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I had (touching wood as we speak) really bad heartburn from 14 weeks taadaa - first dr I saw prescribed a low dose of omeprazole (20mg) - it worked for a month and a half, then stopped working (must have built up a resistance to it). Next dr told me stop taking it if it wasn't working, but didn't check the dose I was on. Prescribed gaviscon by next 2 drs and had same problem as you - it worked for the first 5 minutes and then it came back. Went back to dr again (different one again - I don't have a specific one at my surgery) who put me on a 40mg dose of omeprazole (no known side effects on baby - safe for pregnancy on their guidelines), and it's worked. I've got the rest of the gaviscon on standby, but I've not needed it so far. It's ok to take both though if I do (take omeprazole in the am 30 mins before eating each day) then can take gaviscon after lunch or dinner if necessary. I feel so much more human now, and have been able to eat so much more than I could before as I used to even dread drinking a glass of water cos this would bring it on.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Yes even drinking brings mine on as well! I had it in my first pregnancy but if I was careful about what I ate it was manageable. I had a quick look on the NHS website and there are a few other doctors taking on patients so I think I will call tomorrow and make an appointment with one of them.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. Ranitidine is also safe in pregnancy, I've been on it since about 7 weeks as I developed reflux, ick! Is your GPs a one-man practice? If not, ask to see one of the other Drs instead.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
