. I'm so down today.
Am 19 weeks and 5 days, and have noticed recently that I'm feeling really up some days and then really down the next. Am sure this is quite normal but worried I may be taking it to an extreme.
I am getting so stressed at work. I have always been overworked but just recently we've become busier than normal (I manage advertise campaigns) and the workload now is just overbearing. It's non-stop, and totally frantic from 9am till 530pm, and I'm just constantly badgered all day from sales people, printers, fixing teams and other members of staff. There are then emails all evening on my iphone, which I need to tackle the next morning. Its just question after question, and queries and problems and seems never ending. I barely get time so make a drink, let alone have lunch. Lunch (if I get it) is usually at 3pm-ish, and by the time I get home I feel exhausted, irritable and usually end of arguing with OH. All I can manage to do is loll on the sofa and watch TV, so sex is out of the question at the minute. It's really effecting my home life at a time that should be so happy for us.
I don't know what to do. I'm training someone up and she's doing the best she possibly could be, but trying to train someone whilst also being incredibly busy is so difficult, and I'm worried I'm not giving her the time she needs. She's off shortly for a month, so I'm back on my own managing it all for a little while, then we have around 10 weeks together before I go on maternity leave, and still have so much to cover.
My boss has always leaned on me heavily. I recognise now that I have always been a 'yes' person, or 'i can do that' which now means I've made a rod for my own back. I took yesterday off for my mum's birthday, and by 930am my boss was on the phone to me with an issue she didn't know how to sort. I feel like my boss is almost annoyed with me for being pregnant, and is being intentionally unsupportive (she's also the MD and Owner, so there's no-one more senior to discuss it with).
What makes it worse is that I'm not particularly well paid, yet i see people within the same company who get paid 3x or 4x more than me, when in reality its me that does 90% of their work for them. It's not a case of learning to say 'no'. I'm there to answer their queries.
Just a big moan really. I'm sorry. I just needed to get it all out. So completely fed up and feeling quite annoyed that what should be such a happy time is being ruined by my crappy job.
Go off sick for a week or even two. Turn off your phone and dont answer your emails. Give yourself chance to rest and see how your mood is at the end of it. Talk to your Midwife and GP. Tell your GP how you are feeling as these feelings can escalate and can impact on you postnatally xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Thanks everyone. As I'm quite small (5ft 3 and size 8/10) I was expecting to feel things quite early on, but I guess not. fluffnutter, I have my scan on monday hurrah cannot wait!0

I've felt since 18 weeks, but I wasn't 100% until later. I'm only a size 8. My best mate didn't feel until 22 weeks with hers though and she's a size 8 too. Think it's probably dependent on quite a few things tbh.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I asked the consultant the other day if the fluttery feelings could be the babies this early and she said it sounded like it was them! I'm only 13wk5days and only felt the flutterings when I laid on my side. Ive only felt it a couple of times so far though
As for the consultant appointment, we didnt actually see the consultant, even though the appointment was supposed to be with him. We just saw one of his minions. We were only in there for 10 mins anyway so he probably didnt want to waste his time with that. She didnt say a lot, just said the scan was perfect last week, and asked if we had any questions. Then she said the birth depends on how they are positioned later on, but they would prefer for a vaginal birth if possible. No mention of anything else, in fact she didnt examine me in any way whatsoever.
mentioned some pains I had which she said was all normal stretching. I was sure thats what they were anyway but its best to check isnt it. And then she said see you at 20 weeks. I cant believe at our next scan we will find out what sexes we're having! I cant wait!!!!
Moneypuddle, can you not have a word with your boss and explain you are finding it too much at the moment? I would definitely tell her you need your time off to be yours and you would be turning your phone off when you are at home. And wouldnt be checking your emails. Seems a bit much that you dont have any me time whatsoever

I've felt a few light flutterings now and then and I'm 17 weeks tomorrow. I've got a gender scan tomorrow which is very exciting.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0
