    Evening everyone,

I thought I'd better move over here from the less than 12 weeks board, as had my dating scan today, and I'm officially 13 weeks +1 today with our first baby. My due date is 23rd September.

Ooh also, particularly any none first timers. I'm thinking of using reusable nappies. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Hi ladies, just popping over for a lurk! For those of you considering real nappies this website is great:

    http://www.goreal.org.uk/

If I remember correctly it has a section where you can find out if your council offers any incentives for people using reusable nappies. my local council will give you up to £50 back depending on how much you spend. Also, you can find out if there is anyone local to you who does a nappy hire service. There's a lady near me who hires out trial kits for £4 a week (plus a refundable deposit) which includes a few different types of nappies plus everything you need to use them (liners, boosters, bin). i've already been to see her and will be trying a kit once baby is a few weeks old. Most people use disposables at first until you're into more of a routine and baby has grown a bit. Alot of the reusables are 'birth to potty' kits but I believe they are often not a great fit on newborns, especially if they're on the smaller side. the good thing about hiring a kit with a few different types is that you can then find out which ones suit you and your baby best. i know loads of people who have spent an absolute fortune on one particular brand before baby was born, only to find that it doesn't fit their baby that well. like disposables they all have a slightly different fit.

    hope that helps!

Well after having chronic heartburn for over a week now, I went to the doctor this afternoon and have some omeprazole to take. Fingers crossed it works when I take it tonight.

    Hi all!

:hello: to sexymouse, good to see you on this thread :) It's lovely being brought forward at scan, isn't it? Are you now in the 2nd trimester? (Can you tell how new I am to this, these trimesters do confuse me and there is only 3)!

I am 18 weeks tomorrow and tried my first pregnancy yoga class yesterday, after finally having found a class for less than the ridiculous £8! Apart from the fact I was the least bumpiest there, it was great to relax and not be the teacher and I think I felt the first movements which was so encouraging!

I felt something like it Sunday but at the end in the relaxation, towards the left and lower from my belly button which is where doppler was at 16 week appt, there was a funny feeling. The only way I can describe it is not like butterflies but like water bubbles, as if you had a syringe full of water and was letting it go. I felt it a few times, maybe a flex to kick? Does this sound like some of your baby movements those of you who have had them??

Anyway, I was worrried as I'm supposed to be going to China day after 20 wk scan that hubby may not feel the first movements from the outside, but after I came home and said I think I felt some movement - he didn't even ask for my reasoning, just said no, you didn't, it's far too early!! And he is the one who is a trained childcare assistant, loves reading his blokes guide to pregnancy book and asking how I am so pah!!

since the class I have been more aware of my bump area, so I definitely think it's given me some more body awareness which is interesting but we'll see. It was also lush there as there was a lady who was 37wks and still moving around loads - eek!!

14 days until my 20 week scan, come on!!

    xxx

Student Mrs I think at 18 weeks it's quite common to start feeling movement. I think anywhere from 16 weeks on is usual in first pregnancies, and if it isn't your first pregnancy, you can feel it even earlier. My friend felt movement with her second baby at 13 weeks! Yes I'm into the second trimester now I think, as I'm over the 13 week mark. Will double check that though, as I'm not 100% either. lol ETA: looking at baby centre, second trimester starts week 14, so I'll hit that on Sunday then. Disappointed now.

Sexy. I have a stomach ulcer and was on omeprazole ad it made me very thirsty so just watch your intake of fluid. Also omeprazole doesn't work right away, your doctor should have explained. It has accumulative affect so u will feel greater relief as time goes on xx
love you lots like jelly tots :o

Yoga classes sound great Student Mrs, I’m going to have a look on the net and see if any are near me. I’m feeling a bit of a lazy bum and I know we’re supposed to make the most of this relaxing time but it would be nice to have something once a week to go to and also meet new mums to be.

I have my 20 week scan on Monday, it’s came around so quickly.
