Hey girlies!
Haven't been around to post but have lurked a bit.
Welcome to any newbies!
Have had quite an exciting weekend.
Friday we had the midwife appt and heard the heartbeat for the first time! It was amazing - I cried of course! DH didn't but I'm sure he had misty eyes!
Sunday we went to the Baby Show at Excel and had a brilliant time. We bought the travel system, nursery furniture, a changing bag, bottles and the reusable nappies (£185 for a whole set birth to potty!:money:).
We bought the iCandy Peach. We got the stroller, carry cot and car seat adaptors for £715. That's over £100 cheaper than quoted in the shop.
I had researched prams for ages and was set on the Bugaboo Cameleon, but when i saw the iCandy peach I changed my mind.
The reusable nappies I had wanted before even getting pregnant. I'm really chuffed with them. Especially the price. I am intending to use disposables for the first month or two whilst I get used to being a new mum but then I want to go reusable.
The nursery furniture was the set I wanted from Mamas and Papas and I got it for the same price but with a free good quality mattress thrown in!
Bump is still big one day and small the next but since hearing the heartbeat it doesn't really worry me (well just a tiny bit but I'm being neurotic I think!)
Also got my 20 week scan date through today so I will update the list with that next.
Hope all you ladies are well. xxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Your pain definitely sounds like ligament pain. You have a 'band' of ligament exactly where you're describing and I remember feeling this sort of pain around the same time as you. It didn't happen often, but could be incredibly sharp at times. It also could catch me unawares if I got up too quickly or rolled over in bed.
Whenever I approach a scan or midwife appt I start (extra) worrying, simply because I always do if someone's about to check me for anything. I suspect the cancelled appt has made you feel a little more anxious too. Plus at 16 weeks you won't have the continual soothing feeling of your baby moving regularly to reassure you it's still wriggling around in there.
Everything you've said I've thought myself only to discover that things are absolutely fine
Thanks for this Fluffnutter – it was very reassuring – sorry that I didn’t reply earlier. Xxxx
That's exactly what I had at exactly the same time... I had a chat to a friend who is a few weeks ahead of me and she described the same thing, although her ligament pain was so bad she couldn't stand up straight for a day poor thing....
I guess everyone is slightly different. I still get slight pains now sometimes if I roll over in bed or get up too quickly. But the important thing is that you can still go to the loo without pain, and that you don't have any bleeding. If you do have issues with either, call your midwife. I'm pretty sure that is what they recommend.
For me, when tha pain started I'd also been to Pizza Express at lunch and for dinner the day before, so had eaten a lot which I suspect didn't help! I immediately panicked that it was the pizza... The idea of 5 months without pizza was horrid!!:rotfl:
Happy Monday everyone xxxx
Also a big thanks to you Rakkibeth for this. I'm glad you can still eat pizza! xxxx0 -

I have heard very bad reports about the spin. Repeatedly breaking and being sent to mothercare and while being repaired being given a rubbish stroller etc. not great reviews online either. We went for a mamas and papas switch second hand and are very happy with it. First time rounds I had a bebecar rversus which I loved. Pity mum sold it a month before I found out I was pregnant lol!!love you lots like jelly tots0

Just a thought...
One of my colleagues at work today told me that my boss's daughter has had 2 of the more expensive pushchair brands stolen from various places, and that they're more targetted by thieves than the cheaper (lower-end) options. Made me think about the way prams etc get left at the entry to cinemas, planes, trains, coaches, theatres, restaurants.... I wouldn't want to spend £800 on a nice pram, only for some other lovely person to walk off with it while I'm not looking...
(I know it's not that likely, but I would be very unhappy if I had to claim on the insurance because someone stole this...)Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0 -
just updating as my scan date has slightly changes, now seeing a consultant for scan, its so cool its the consultant i used to work for 7 years ago. no problems have been found with baby but there is a very slight chance baby may have a disability like my nephew, so therefore they are airing on the side of caution and cons is doing the scan.

Think people's ideas are right, I complain about this thread being quiet but then only come on here to ask questions
so, odd couple of days. Yesterday, thought I had a bladder infection as couldn't stop going to the loo like the early weeks of pregnancy but then that only lasted a couple of hours. I also had tingly pains in my lower abdomen and no amount of googling can tell me what that was?! anyone else had it? I am 15 weeks as of yesterday.
then a friend text me to say that she didn't get heartbeat listened to at her 16 wk appt yesterday and she is only next county across from me - argh.
but yay, I think I had a bump yesterday. Woke up with a sore bump area and by the night, blimey. Cus I'm a dance teacher I normally spend time in joggers so haven't noticed much change apart from b00bs moving more but wore a casual dress for a show yesterday and def looked bigger. When I got home late at night, my hubby said it was hard to get his arms around me, as he can normally fit both arms right around me. I unbuttoned my size 10 coat to show, ta dah!! he couldn't stop showing his friends then but it seems to have gone down again this am?!!
Does anyone know anything about ovarian cysts? the sonographer picked some up on my right ovary at my 12 wk scan and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with my twinges, odd tingly pain yesterday, like severe pins and needles.
hmm, (((hugs to all))) x

It's possible that the baby was simply sat on your bladder for an hour or so. However, ovarian cysts can also cause the symptoms you describe (don't worry - they're usually not much of a problem and go away on their own).
If it happens again, it's worth mentioning to your GP or midwife. They can do another scan and if it's still causing you problems, you can have it removed.
I'm not trying to alarm you, just letting you know the options. And rest assured, the cyst won't be bothering your baby (unless it's ENORMOUS). Just you!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
