    Hi everyone,

Its quiet in here again! Hope everyone is OK. Am 16w tomorrow and definitely have a proper bump now, I am putting it down to being short and this being No2 so I am stretched already!

Have had 2 days of with DD this week as in-laws (who usually have her and are a godsend) are on hols at the moment, and it has been great, we have done baby groups, swimming and a visit to a play barn which was wicked! Very tired now tho, just need to tidy up and have a clean round as friends over tomorrow.

    enjoy your weekend! xx

  • yes indeed very quiet

went to mothercare mothers to be event yesterday, was good as spoke to breast pump expert, tried out some pushchairs, spoke to baby swim people and just generally looked around. got a few freebies, a hat, mittens and some baby wash etc

i would recommend to go to one of their events if you dont have to travel too far

OH is away in Berlin till sunday evening for a friends birthday so will be very quiet not having him around :(

feeling a little down about responses to me being pregnant from my mum, she isnt as enthusiastic as i thought she would be. this is her 4th grandchild and she does have a lot on her plate with my nan, she is seriously disabled following a stroke and she also helps my sister out an awful lot with her children as she is struggling to cope. i hope things have settled down a bit by the time baby comes so she can enjoy her new grandchild.
on the other hand OHs mum is extremely pleased as it is her first grandchild and its really nice to speak to someone who is very positive about my pregnany.

    18 weeks on monday :)

    hope everyone is feeling well.....

  • Hi! We went to the mothercare event too, found it useful, not as pushy as we thought re sales which was good. Tried loads of pushchairs, very tempted by bugaboo, until we saw the price!

We are off to excel for the baby show so will see what they have there before making any decision.

Have a good weekend, we're 22 weeks on Monday, time flies by and this is getting real and scary...!
Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...

Hey ladies, just moving over from the less than 12 weeks thread. I'm 12+4 today. Had scan last Weds, all was fine thank god. Now I can get excited! We bought a few bits over the weekend taking advantage of the Boots 342 and parenting club vouchers. Hoping to stockpile nappies and wipes so that's one less thing to worry about while I'm off work.

Have got a little bit of a bump but it's still looking like a bit too much cake at the mo! Need new work trousers, must do that next weekend as squeezing into them for another week isn't going to be comfy.

Eeek it's all happening! Hope everything's ok for everyone else.
  • Hi everyone, I have been quiet lately as not had much to report. However, I'm 16+3 today and can report that my sickness has FINALLY stopped! After being sick every day since New Years Day, I stopped at 15 weeks. Had a mini set back at the weekend when I was sick but I think I'd overdone it a bit. Also had a little show of blood Sunday and yesterday. Was really worrying but the EPU unit told me (over the phone, eventually, 5 and a half hours after I rang them, grr) to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse to go in. This morning, nothing, so feel lots better!

We went shopping for nursery furniture this weekend, was brilliant! We went to Mothercare, Mamas & Papas and Kiddicare to get an idea of quality and we ordered a Mothercare set on Sunday:

We also picked out our Moses basket from Mamas & Papas as it was on offer and I liked this one the best out of all the stores (some of them felt so flimsy):

OH was so sweet, he couldn't wait to get out the DIY shops (we were looking for bathroom tiles and hall wallpaper at the same time) and into the baby shops, he really surprised me!

In other news, my bump is getting quite big although I think it's mainly fluid. I've been eating lots more, although I haven't put on all of the 6lbs I initially lost when I found out I was pregnant. I'm getting so fed up with people telling me I'm eating too much!! And rubbing my tummy when they see me! I am not a buddha!!

I have my 16 week appointment with the MW on Saturday. We were told at the booking meeting that we should be able to hear the heartbeat, which I'm really excited about as, although we heard it on the scan, I haven't felt the baby move yet and I want to make sure everything's okay. I feel like I really miss the baby as it was 4 weeks ago since the scan! I think once I start feeling it move, I'll feel closer to it again.

    Hope everyone is doing well.
  • I got this moses basket on Sunday from Mamas and Papas - (tried to put link but as I'm a new user they won't let me :( boo!) it's on M&P website under moses basket and it's called Bedtime Hugs.

It was reduced from £99 to £49 plus I had a £15 voucher so only cost me £34!! Still have to get a stand for it though think I might wait until nearer the time and see if anyone offers one to borrow.

I agree with you Chrissy1981 we had look in other stores and they didn't feel as good as quality and as you said a bit flimsy.

    Hope everyone is well xx

    Hey girlies,

Hope everyone is good, over on the main PG thread someone has posted that M&P having a 29% off event tomorrow, so may be worth a look.

Had HV round today for DDs 2 year check, all OK, so pleased with that. Back to work tomorrow, so not pleased with that! Have had a nice few days with DD and dreading going back into the office.

I am the only part-timer in the office and am on a higher grade then the majority of the others and feel like I am resented whenever I am there, and under pressure to take on more and more (including covering for the manager when she starts her mat leave at the end of March). I do my previous 5 day a week job plus projects, and the others I work with are relcutant to cover any of my work (even the stuff at the equivalent grade) so I am constantly trying to catch up when I am in for 3 days. Thankfully we have a new apprentice who will be covering my basic stuff when I go off, but that means training her at the moment too. I think I need to brave up and ask for some help/ slack as I have also made a few (fairly minor) mistakes recently that resulted in out of hours phone calls, which I don't mind if it means the issues get resolved/ looked at. I am worried about saying anything tho as I am fairly sure there will be restructure/ redundancies in our office and I don't want to look like I can't cope.

Sorry rant over! Can't talk to DH as he doesn't get any politics in his office (ironically just down the corridor from me!) and I feel like I'm just wingeing if I say anything. already on countdown!

Am seeing the consultant on Thursday to discuss my previous complications and management this time, which I am also quite worried about. God my brain is a mess! On the bright side starting to make progress on my degree, will be submitting another assignment this week then moving onto the next module.

Sorry to go on about me, me, me I really hope you are all OK and not suffering in the way of sickness/ tiredness too much xx

  • I wonder if any of you can help with a big dilemma we currently have. Bugaboo Chameleon or Mothercare Spin? Which should we get? Or have any of you found any great travel systems we've missed? (we don't like oyster, silver cross, quinny... as for the cost, we feel the main 2 we have settled on are better)

    Any ideas? Thank you!

  • my theory about why this thread is quiet, think people are feeling better in second trimester with less illness to moan about and less things to get anxious about.

i am 18+ 1 today and sickness stopped about week 16, have noticed in the last week my energy is better as well, so not feeling exhausted and not having random naps although still sleeping a little longer at night.

Gemma hope your cons appt goes ok. i have one tomorrow, hopefully it wont be too much to worry about i have a nephew with a severe disability which could possibly affect my child. unlikely though i think as no other children have been born with this disability, will know for sure at 20 week scan.

really annoyed with myself at the moment, brought a vintage piece of jewellery for a friends bday present and i have lost it - feel like such an idiot, sending myself crazy thinking where it could be. i just need to accept i have lost is as its winding me up.

went to whittlebury spa in northamptonshire yesterday and really enjoyed myself, last treat before baby comes along.

    hope everyone is well
