Sorry can't help with buggies, we have a gracco travel system from last time which we will have to reuse as can't afford to replace. Will be stretching to a buggy board for DD
Laura- yeah thats probably what it is, I hope your appt goes well tomorrow. I always lose thigns too, then find them about 2 days after I needed them! I guess you could always save for next year if/ when you find it.
Think I may head off to bed shortly, swimming tomorrow night and need my energy!Boots: £107.xx on AC :j

Hello, can I join in please? I'm moving over from the less than 12 weeks thread as I'm 12+3 today. Had my scan yesterday and saw my little one for the first time :j It was amazing! Even though I've seen it with my own eyes it still feels a little bit surreal though - I can't get my head around the fact that the little tiny person I saw dancing around on the screen is inside me. It's a very strange feeling.
Hope everyone is doing okay today.0 -
LOL! We are in the same position! I don't like the 3 wheelers. The spin is good and I do love the silver cross but they are too heavy for me on buses and and the handles only come up 1 inch! Which isn't good for hubby as I am 5ft 2 and he is 6ft 2.0

My theory as to why this thread is a bit quieter is not because everyone is feeling better and are therefore not online so much. I think that it's the busiest 12 weeks of pregnancy, post-sickness and pre-aches and pains, before the bump causes too many issues. With all the shopping, planning, DIY work, and everything else to be prepared, I think everyone's going full on to get things ready while energy allows.
Now we're in week 22, the back pain and feet issues are getting to the stage where they're starting to cause a problem. Not enough to stop shopping trips, but enough to prevent a full day trip running around various stores...
We've got most of the basics, aside from the chameleon vs spin dilemma.... we're not buying any clothes til nearer the date, because we don't want to buy too early and find that baby's going to be bigger or smaller, thus meaning we can't actually fit things on once it's born....Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0 -
I've got these weird barrier about buying stuff. It's not superstition (I'm not in the least like that), more that I just can't make that first purchase for some reason! We've looked at prams, we've looked at cots, I've made a list of loads of stuff, but the idea of actually buying something just feels really weird. Like OMG, I'm actually going to have a baby. This bump is going to end up being a person. I don't think I've come to terms with it yet!
I tell a lie. I bought a pair of socks. Big deal"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Sorry to butt in but just wanted to say I have the cameleon and I love it:D Don't forget that mothercare price match so you will not have to pay their inflated price. I got the pram, carseat and adapters for less than they were selling the pram for, on a price match.
And that goes for any pram, not just the cameleon. Just google for the best price then go instore and ask Mothercare to price match it. You can also put it onto their baby plan and pay it off over a few months.
And on the subject of isofix bases we bought the familyfix one and it is great, I honestly struggle on the odd occassion when I have to secure the seat by belt in another car. Of course its a luxury not a neccessity but it's really worth considering imo. Just remember though that the only group one carseat that is compatible with the familyfix base is the pearl so make sure you're happy with that choice or if you fancy a different group one seat then a cheaper isofix base would be better for your group 0 carseat.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -

Or have any of you found any great travel systems we've missed? (we don't like oyster, silver cross, quinny... as for the cost, we feel the main 2 we have settled on are better)
Any ideas? Thank you!
I ended up going for the Spin. Really light and compact when packed up (fits into the boot of my tiny car now problem). Easy to use, quite pretty too. I liked the idea of the bugaboo and think it is really stylish, but just couldn't bring myself to spend that sort of money on one.
In the end I found a seller on ebay and bought a "reconditioned" Spin for £170. It was basically a returned item from mothercare which they then don't sell on again so you can snap them up for a fraction of the price.
Just bought a maxi cosi pebble ("recon" too) and family fix base (second hand) and am quite chuffed with my "savings" on things from RRPs so far. Just a few quid in some cases, but it all adds up
I am 24 weeks today. V day woo hoo! :j
I haven't posted much as I haven't been around much at home so only lurk on my phone from time to time. I will probably still lurk on this thread for a bit though before moving on to the next one.Mortgage at largest: £250,000 _pale_ (March 2006)

What is this V day that we talk about?!
I'm feeling crap again today, was sick twice this morning at work now have a major headache so have come home. I have had a good three weeks away from nausea and sickness, why is it back?!0 -
Fluffnutter - beware, that's how I was when we had the 20wk scan, but then a friend with children took me to Jojo Maman Bebe... I started with a little pair of Miffy bunnies, but then ended up doing a £50 online shop the following morning! So i'm sure you don't have anything to worry about, you'll be buying as soon as you find something worth buying!
One of the things my friend said is to try and find the better quality babygros and clothes when they're in the sale, so they're affordable... So I now have Bump's first two babygros for £14That's it so far, but my sale brain can't resist a bargain!
