We had our 20 weeks scan yesterday morning and everything seems fine. Found out we're having girl! My gut instinct was that baby was a girl... Quite handy as there's lots of girls in DH's family, so plenty of clothes available, although loads and loads of pink  I'm not a fan of all pink for girls :rotfl:
same here, i really dislike pink, never wear it myself and have already told people if i have a girl i dont want pink clothes lol but unfortunately i dont think mother in law was listening grrr

tummy is growing, soon i will actually look pregnant and not just fat lol
today has been good, had a dip in energy mid morning but great otherwise, have managed to bake a healthy carrot cake (less sugar, no cream topping and some part wholemeal flour) will freeze slices and take into work. need something to keep me going after all my fruit supplies have dwindled.
have a bit of a craving for chips but resisting having them too often.
went into mothercare today to ask about their baby events, they have one in peterborough on 23rd feb so me & OH will check it out.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends and arent freezing too much

Went to doctor I call after win up all night with rib pain an temperature. Apparently I have the start of a chest infection so antibiotics for me.
feeling rubbish. Totally passed out and neglected my child this morning. Luckily she entertained herself with cbeebies and wrecking my living room by pouring out every box of toys

rjh sorry you're not well - hope it clears up quickly.
jedi, it's not that I don't like pink (I do wear it occasionally myself) but when it comes to clothes for girls it just seems to be shades of pink, and don't get me started on pink-specific toys. Why do boys get to have multi-coloured fun and girls are targeted with just the one colour? Doesn't make sense to me! It's not the colour so much, more what it represents.0 -

I dressed my daughter in purple a lot. Matalan is good for different stuff and it's good quality too.
As for feeling better. No such luck. In pain every time I move. Don't understand how I can have a chest infection without a cough lol. Pain now spreading to whole lower back and abdomen. Not sure where to go nextlove you lots like jelly tots0 -

It does seem weird that you don't have a cough if it's a chest infection. Are you breathless or wheezing?
Triangle, I got a load of stuff from my SIL on Friday and I agree that it seems much more real now that I've got some stuff in the houseI'm trying to avoid buying too much new, although I did have a mini-spree in Next's baby department a couple of weeks ago

I think its sooo great that this forum is here and that we are all so close together in terms of scans and EDD.
So, i've had a real crap day - week even. Ive been sleeping on the floor in my two daughters room while I finish painting and decorating my room. Just ordered a purple carpet for £57 incl delivery on ebay. Now I just need a carpet fitter so if anyone knows of anyone in or around North London pleeease let me know.
I'm resenting my partner as well at the moment, hes working nights and is completely useless to me. His help (when hes not sleeping) goes as far as giving me his credit/ debit cards, money (which, obviously i don't mind that) and letting me know how long its been since we've been intimate. I am not in the mood to be intimate, especially when the house needs fixing, I have two young daughters (5 and 6) who need attention - one with the year 2 SATs coming up, a dog which needs walking twice daily and up until recently four guinea pigs which could eat through an allotment of vegetables in a day. (Miss you Summer, Nibbles, Patch and Heidi.)
Also, I've been looking at prams and I really want to get my Babystyle. I'm happy to buy now, but whats peeving me off at the moment is that they and a lot of other prams come with only a 6 month warranty/ guaranty. If my calculations are right, that will mean it will be over by the time I have this little peanut.
Also air tyres or standard wheels. Everyone I speak to tells me air tyres, but I used to have a Phill and Teds with them and the amount of punctures I had was ridiculous, you are literally stranded until its fixed and if you use the tube of green gel - the bike shop will be hesitant to fix it properly because of the mess it causes so u have to go out and buy a new inner tube, its sooo much hassle.
LASTLY - here is a break down of what I have bought recently
Cot bed £69
Spring/ Sprung Mattress £39
Carrycot Mattress £17
Bath and Room thermometer £10
Closer to Nature essential sterilisation kit £70
10 pack of bibs £3
First toy giraffe £5
Changing mat £5
Child Emergency First Aid Portable Guide £3
Infant Emergency First Aid Portable Guide £3
2.5 tog Sleeping bag £10
Maternity Clothes
Top £7.50
(Subtle) Pallazzo trousers £7
Stretch vests (various colours) £1-£2
General clothes in the sale for after the baby is born size 10 (giving me and incentive to loose some weight too).
And an Episcope (picture enlarger) from ebay £55 - so I can continue with my hobby and love off all things arty farty.
To everyone who is ill - pleeease get better, stay inside, eat lots of fruit and what I find helps is to carry around a mini hot water bottle. Take it out with you if you have too - I do. I bought a nice warm parka jacket recently from asda george online for £15 - I wear it in the house and I wear it outside. No illness as yet and I literally swam in the snow the first time it came down. Also I am still taking my Sanatogen Mother to be pre natal vits and always cover my face with a scarf on public transport.0
