  • Last night, in the bath, my little boy was kicking so hard i could see my belly moving! Whenever he kicked by belly would shake or kind of jolt. He did it for ages and I was just lying in the bath giggling at him (nutter :D ) and getting super excited about seeing him for the first time.

It was beautiful yet freaky at the same time :)

I also have my scan tomorrow and I'm excited and terrified at the same time! Good luck Triangle :)

Mrs M, baby obviously likes ice cream! Maybe because it's cold? They do say to drink something cold and lay down if you haven't felt any movement for a while, as it normally prompts baby into moving.

Have you noticed a pattern to the kicks yet? I've only been getting definite kicks for a 10 days or so, but the last couple of days I've noticed that it kicks late morning/lunch time, and in the evening. Perhaps it's because I get hungry?! Maybe it doesn't like my tummy gurgling :rotfl: I sometimes notice prods and kicks during one of the many times I wake at night, but I don't think it's waking me.

MrsManda are you laying down when they do the blood test? I nearly keeled over when I had blood taken for the combined test (the woman couldn't find a vein and just poked around randomly for a minute before I asked her to stop ) . I ask whoever it is to take blood from the back of my hand, and I ask for a butterfly needle, which is much finer than some needles I've seen  Other than that, I just have sweets in my pocket and gobble some down whilst they're still unwrapping the plaster :)

I've been looking at pushchairs too recently, but it gives me a headache. I think we might end up going for the iCandy strawberry (assuming we can get one by June - long waiting list apparently) as it can be folded with the seat still attached and facing in either direction, unlike the others in that sort of price/type bracket that we've been looking at. We have a small hallway so need something that folds and doesn't have lots of bits that have to be stored separately. Thankfully my mum has offered to buy it for us (we'll get the car seat) otherwise we'd have been getting the M&P Sola I think. I definitely don't have £700 to spend on a pushchair :rotfl: Well, should rephrase that as I'm too cheap to spend that, but my mum is happy to splash the cash so I'm letting her. First grandchild and all that :p

they struggle to get blood out of me too, i nearly fainted the first time and the nurse was poking around, i thought she had taken some looked down and no blood in the tube! eeekk i think some people are more experienced than others. second time around the first nurse held her hands up and said she couldnt do it as she couldnt find a vein, lukerly the next nurse who gave it a go seemed more experienced and got it first time.

what i do is ask to lay down for the test, this helps me and seriously think about something else in your head to keep your mind off it, you need something that will hold your attention, last time i thought about eric from true blood lol

Dont think I posted on the under 12 week thread as nothing really appeared to be happening. OH seems to have dodged morning sickness and wasnt much else to report. Dont see what all this pregnancy fuss is about to be honest ladies :D *runs*

We finally had our 12 week scan - at 13 weeks (you'll see why below!)and all fine. Strong heartbeat and everything fine with ultrasound. Though I'm not allowed to go into these tests with OH which leaves me feeling a bit left out :(

Got in last night to find OH having minor hysterics. With this being a Dragon year there is going to be an almighty baby boom - 200,000 births expected in Beijing alone. She had been calling hospitals all afternoon to book a bed for delivery and everywhere was booked solid until mid september

Managed to calm her down then marched her to a private hospital near to us who assured her they had plenty of beds available, for $3,000..... Ill never criticize the NHS again :rotfl:

    Morning all,
Amara: glad the scan went well :)

Hope everything goes well with everyone having a scan today.

We got snow last night, makes everything look beautiful. It's not as deep as last weekend's snow so my OH took his brompton to work rather than walking.

Yesterday was not fun as I had a 'mild' grand mal seizure so had to go to the maternity unit to get baby checked over. The staff were really good and baby's fine but it's one of those things that I'd rather not happen. It makes me feel a bit irresponsible getting pregnant but I did check with my doctors before TTC who said I shouldn't have any problems as everything had been under control for ages. :(

Today I ache lots so not planning on doing anything even remotely physical.

Beccad cold is a possibility, my OH thinks it may have been sugar overload. Baby usually kicks in the early morning and late at night - I think he's a bit like me, good in the mornings and evenings, wants to sleep in the afternoons :) Was kinda concerned yesterday because he was kicking a lot in the morning then I had the seizure and stopped feeling him. Logically it was early afternoon so I normally wouldn't feel him much and my stomach muscles ached a lot so it's likely I wouldn't be able to distingush between that and the baby but I was glad to hear him kicking when we went to the maternity unit.

Kiddicare have extended their sale so we don't have to try to fit pram shopping in this weekend while we have visitors :) obviously they did it just for us ;)

Big Alf, glad you got things sorted. That's a lot of money - I do very much appreciate the NHS, hopefully Cameron won't completely screw it up.

Everyone be careful in the snow and ice and stay warm.

I'm having a little man! :smileyhea

Scan went really well, went in and all healthy, baby sleepy though. Got told to walk for 30 minutes, drink some more water and come back so they could do measurements on spine. Did this and went back - had to go out again for more walking and drinking so they could measure thigh and discover the flavour! I have never needed the toilet more!

Am feeling very happy and emotional - can't believe it's a boy...need to get working on names! And it means I can now get the Quinny Buzz travel system in midnight blue :D

Good luck to all other scanees today and congrats to those who have had.

    A very happy triangle xx

Had horrendous pain last night! How I didn't cry I don't know. I was sat in a funny position and I when I moved a muscle in my stomach from my foof right up to my hip had got stuck. Had to try and walk a bit to loosen it. And then I wanted a wee and as soon as I sat down and started going it cramped again. Yowch!! Still hurts today.
