Wow sounds quick! Does she measure and feel you tummy at all or not even go near you still?

16 weeks here. I thought emma's diary was a book? As I have the pack from argos and it says to get the second pack cut out the voucher from the book. From what i've read it would seem the book doesn't exist! So lord knows how you get the other packs. I will ask her about bounty tomorrow.

According to the Emma's Diary website you can claim the second pack from 27 weeks - a link to download the voucher for the relevant pack will show up on your account page.

The midwife at my second appointment did have a feel of my abdomen though I think that was mainly because the student midwife was having difficulty finding a heart beat.

When I had my 12 week scan before Christmas I picked up a Bounty pack, but my midwife said it was the last one she had (lucky me :D) and they weren't handing them out anymore. That was in the South Glos area. Don't know if it is the same for other areas (even if it is, if they have stocks of them no doubt they will hand them out until they run out)...

Ah ha! So the link won't come until I have reached 27 weeks. Wow I am struggling with all these vouchers and weird things  It's all so complex lol.
  • Afternoon all!

Thanks for your responses re the pram situation. rjh I will go and check out the switch.

I have signed up to Which?. It is £1 for a months trial. You can tick boxes of what you are looking for and they match you with a pram and there are reviews etc. It looks pretty good. So now I am looking at the icandy cherry. I need to go and see it in a shop.

Whowants2brich - When i went for my scan i ate a handfull of fizzy sweets in the waiting room because i had read that online that sugar wakes the baby up. Sure enough the scan showed our baby literally bouncing off the walls! Maybe you could try that on Friday? Maybe it will help? :o

Rebekah - sorry that you've been feeling pants. :(

Everyone else take care of yourselves.

Don't know about anyone else's, but my Emmas Diary packs were rubbish, hardly anything in them and all the same. I even emailed to tell them I'd never have given them all my personal details if I'd seen the pack first! The Bounty ones were better, always had good coupons and the new baby one had a little towel in. As I never went onto the post natal ward, I got both Bounty ones on the delivery suite.

As for clothes, I knew mine would be a good size, so bought a few newborn and plenty of 0-3 secondhand, and anything new I got in 3-6 as I knew there'd be lots of presents in the smaller sizes.

I went to the last Mothercare eve, got a few little freebies, but more importantly, a 10% I think it was, discount coupon. So if you're eyeing up one of their prams or something big, worth going.

i got the switch second hand and its great - first time round i had bebecar rversus which was great and compact but a little heavy - my needs are i want soemthing that goes from pram to pushchair but still faces parent both ways without need for separate carrycot. thats why i went for it :)

having mad headaches at the minute but at least sickness stopped and tiredness not quite as vbad - i get wee bursts of energy :) 13 weeks tomorrow :)
love you lots like jelly tots :o
  • busy board for once :)

my second midwife appt is next week and i was hoping for something exciting like listening to babies heart beat, i wont get my hopes up now.

pram shopping just seems too much for me at the moment, going to wait till 20 week scan then look for something thanks Mrs Excited for Which tip, i will sign up too:)

baby shopping wise, have brought a few things - bouncer, bibs, grow bag
other people have brought me wipes, blankets, clothes, bibs, towels - we are planning not to buy any newborn or 0-3 m clothes as we think we will get enough from other people.
my sister has given me moses basket, lots of bottles for expressing and car seat
have also gone for freebie nappies/wipes etc by signing up to baby clubs - we have set up a specific email account for this so that we dont have junk email going into our main accounts.

Good luck to any peeps with up and coming scans.

final question is anyone measuring their bellies and keeping a note of how much they are growing? i am gaining a cm a week - wondered if this is usual (currently 15+1)

Is the aim for the baby to be bouncing around, or my DW? On that much sugar, I'd prefer to keep my distance. We might try to make baby respond to light stimulation - apparently it doesn't like bright light. Failing that, a sugar hit will be on the cards. Friday will be fun. Baby will co-operate. And everything will be ok.

And we will get a good deal on the pram, if we get a 10% voucher with mothercare... :)

I ought to start the day with a post more often if it makes people talk like today...

RebekahR, hope the midwife appt is ok...

And we're 19 weeks today, the bump is growing fast, maternity trousers were a must and bought today. We now find that I have to pick things up, since bending down is no longer an option. Shoelaces are already challenging. Only 21 more weeks... great!!!
