  • Morning all :)

Had the 20 week scan yesterday, was lovely to see baby again and am amazed at how much detail they go into - we saw the spine up close, the chambers of the heart (with colour to see the blood pumping in and out) and the bladder and kidneys working - it was absolutely fantastic :)

We found out we are team blue, think he was doing everything he could to keep it secret most of the way through by having his legs crossed but there was no doubt when the sonographer looked at the umbilical cord ;)

Went out and bought a few bits yesterday - actually all feels official now, little man has a 'coming home' oufit, a few sleepsuits and bodysuits and a cute little play mat. OH had to drag me away from the shops :rotfl:

  • Hiya!! I hope everyone's having a good day today.

Mrs Manda & Jovi - congratulations on both of your scans! You are both on team blue! How exciting!

Ginvzt - Thanks for doing up the list. It looks lovely and is much easier to read now.

Jedi - Congrats on your scan. Lucky you being put forward to 14 weeks! Do you feel more relaxed now?

    GemmaE & Amara - Welcome!!

Is anyone else finding it really hard to knuckle down at work? I am soooo lazy. I just want to lie down under my desk and have a snooze! LOL:rotfl::rotfl:
  • Oh, one other thing.... are any of you thinking of going to any of the baby shows? I am planning to go with DH to the Excel one in Feb. We are hoping that there will be loads of travel systems/prams that we can try out to help us decide which one we are going to get.

Have any of you ever been to it before? Is it worth going? It's £20 for 2 tickets if booked in advance.

Morning (well afternoon but I only just got up - could sleep for England) all.

Today I have mostly got a huge smile on my face - 24 weeks and viability day! I know it's still a bit of a "why the hell are you celebrating that for - the chances are still slim if it was born that early" but it's kind of a big thing for me in that it's the first time we'd have any fighting chance.

Tempted to celebrate by opening the pram packaging which I've kept completely sealed in case of anything bad happening.

We went down to the Kiddicare showroom and spent hours with the prams there getting them folded up and down, changed to carrycot mode, changed to carseat on board mode, checking they were man-proof and the like - making sure it wasn't one where the seat, wheels, basket and kitchen sink had to come off for it to fit in the car boot etc and it really did help us make the decision on what to go for. That one's a trip worth making if you're anywhere nearby - don't know my pelvis would cope with an actual baby show (or the credit card).

  • Oh and congrats dizzi.. I'm a bit like that too waiting for the milestone of 24 weeks. It'll be 19th feb for me..
  • Happy V day dizzi!

Which pram did you go for in the end? I'm leaning toward the Mothercare My3 cos we walk in the woods quite a lot. But i have got a tiny car so not sure about it fitting in the boot.

Very tempted to go to Kiddicare but it is kinda far - 110 miles away! Don't think i could persuade DH to go for that!

I'll only be 17 weeks when it is the baby show so I should be ok walking around there shouldn't I? I dunno? What do you guys think?

MrsExcited im sooooo glad some else feels like this. Think mine is a mix of it being our busiest time of year at work, being 23 weeks pregnant an already being on countdown to my mat leave! Which is a bad idea as I still have ages to go an loads more work to do before that day comes.

Hope all are well, looks like everyone is having a lovely experience at the 20 week scan.

    Xx
