  • Hey

i am 12 weeks today so coming over this thread but still kinda staying on the other one as well till my scan is ok. scan is a week tomorrow, cant wait.

We told close family today which was great, lots of knitting being planned and people offering help and support which is great.

wondering how everyone is feeling in their second trimester and if it has been better than their first?

Welcome to the thread jediquigley/laura, it's exciting when you start telling people :)

My next scan is a week tomorrow as well, though it's going to be my 21 week scan :)

I've been feeling much more tired and overly emotional in my 2nd trimester than my first though many people seem to feel much better once they get to ~16 weeks.

I'm feeling disgustingly organised... nursery's all put together, pram's arrived and is sat in its box (not putting that together for a good while since it'll do my head in tripping over it) - the load of stuff I borrowed from SIL is here - things like moses, swing chair and the like... down to the last few bits to track down really while I still have access to the car during the working week.

23 weeks tomorrow - viability day seems actually an attainable goal now! Had a bit of a scare last week when movements went very very soft and quiet for a few days but we seem to be back in action again now - think she'd turned and was kicking into my back where the placenta is. Now just need to sort out the fact one of the dogs is off her food!

    Wow dizzi I'm amazed.
We're not planning on buying anything until after the scan next week (apart from the moses basket/stand we bought last week on a whim in a sale) but it's likely we'll be leaving getting most of the nursery furniture until after the birth due to space issues.

Sorry to hear about your scare but glad she's back and bouncing :)
Baby seems to be have been a bit quiet the last couple of days but I've not been feeling well - had husband's bug I think and have been sleeping lots so think that was probably why I hadn't noticed movement. Think I've been feeling movement today but will be happier once the scan tells me everything's fine.

Question to everyone, has anyone started suffering from regular headaches since becoming pregnant? Since about Christmas (~16 weeks) I've been getting headaches a couple of times a week, always around 1-3pm. They can get quite bad and be associated with nausea and dizziness. I take paracetomol but the only thing which seems to help is curling up asleep for a couple of hours.
Any suggestions of why or how to stop them? Varying when I eat, what I drink or when I get up in the morning doesn't seem to make a difference.

This time next week we should hopefully know everything is ok with baby and maybe whether we're having a son or daughter :) Very glad it's an early appointment (8:30am) but wish it was sooner :p

very organised, i like to get everything sorted ASAP. not had first scan yet so not buying any big things yet. me and OH are going to write up a plan of action after we have the scan and know everythings alright.

just to note - went on the ikea website yesterday and they have some great baby/kids stuff. cot/beds are pretty cheap compared to the ones i saw in kiddicare.

feeling a little tired today as woke up with hunger in the night, i hate that. ended up having some wholemeal bread with phillie.

hope everyones day has been good

  • a question - has anyone photocopied scan pictures? how well does it come out?

in my letter re my scan it says its £4 for a picture, would like one for both sets of grandparents as well as ourselves and was hoping i could just photocopy rather than spending £12 on pics
