    Mornin all.

MrsManda - you will be a fab mum, don't worry about that, just nerves like you get before you get married I guess.

I am 25 weeks today :) gone so so quick. Finish work tomorrow for xmas, then when back in Jan have only 9 weeks left to work.

We have booked a 4d scan for between xmas and new year - want to take DS who kisses mummys bump and cuddles it every day and has asked for a certian toy for baby from Father Christmas - he is so excited - want to make it real for him so decided the scan will help him understand a bit more what baby looks like. I can't wait......

    Have a good day all.

Hope you feel better soon MrsManda.

flutterby - your DS sounds so lovely! I would love a 4D scan, but I don't think OH would sign up for it. He is really tight with money and hates spending anything (we earn enough, it is not an issue). Besides, he can't see the point of why would you want a 4d scan when you are going to see the baby in a few months. Men, ah?

We were talking with our friends in Germany last weekend, who are expecting a boy around Easter time, and they have scans every 4 weeks as part of normal antenatal care. She was shocked when I said we only get week 12 scan and then week 20 scan.

Goppers it must feel amazing to feel the kicks :)

As for sleeping, my friend has been using a Body Plus Sleep Pillow from Mothercare since she was ~12 weeks pregnant, she's convinced it's the reason she's not gone completely dodally with lack of sleep.

My OH has said if I end up needing one he's going to start sleeping in the spare room so I have more space and he can get some sleep himself ;)

Lisa26, lots of hugs. I understand about the paracetamol, really hate taking it but I woke in tears at 5am and figured there was no chance I'd be able to cope for the day without something. I limit myself to a maximum of 1 dose a day and only take it when I can't find an alternative. Lying on a hot water bottle helps a little. Sorry yoga hasn't worked for you :( are you going to try any other classes?

    when did you start showing?
My OH is really looking forward to me showing as it means he'll get a daily reminder it's really happening, I'm not so convinced - my mum and aunt both ended up HUGE with excess fluid. Breasts are definitely getting bigger, will have to get measured for a new bra soon.

I use a spare pillow to support my bump, I can't justify spending a fortune on a fancy one unless I really struggle.

I'd be taking paracetamol if the pain was enough to make me cry!

I'd love to try a different class but there's nothing else around here. I live just next to a town and work in another town but neither of them have anything, Its like living in the middle of nowhere! on the main PG thread they're all talking about pizza express.....I LOVE pizza express but our nearest one is about 45 miles away!!!

I had a bit of a bump from pretty early on, definately by 9 weeks although I think it was bloating as much as bump TBH!! I'd say I had a bump that was noticable to others from about 17 weeks, would have been sooner but my clothes hide it pretty well. A few people who know me quite well had noticed I'd 'grown' and weren't particularly surprised when i told them I was PG at 12 weeks.
  • Flutterby - where did you end up booking your scan? I was deliberating one for the same reason as my DS is fascinated to see what baby looks like.

Thanks ginvzt, my son is a little star and so caring and loving all the time. My OH is quite excited for it, and said if I want one then to have one and will be good for DS :)

Baby premier in Manchester - £112 for the 4D scan, 5 pics and a DVD. I managed to get them to knock the price down. It was meant to be £97 for just the scan and pics and extra £30 for the DVD so got a bit of a bargain.

I get pelvic pain but the way to combat it is to keep my knees together when moving ie. when getting out of bed in the morning or out of the car and also sleeping with a pillow between my knees (not good if you turn over a lot at night). My scan is just a week away now, I can't wait :)

  • Good luck Jenny, it will soon be here.

I sleep with a pillow between my knees too. Bought one of those dream genii things but sold it on ebay as didn't rate it anymore than a pillow.....

    That sounds really good :)

We used Reassur3d, for an early scan, they were great.

With prices they seem to have lots of deals with refer a friend or % off if you hook up with them on facebook etc....at the time we were going for a 7 week scan so last thing we wanted to do was tell anyone :rotfl::rotfl:but hope this might help someone now :)

Thank you for this :jLOL I was just looking at the pillows and thinking what one to get and maybe asking for one for Christmas, but maybe I will try out a normal pillow first and see what happens :o
