Happy 1st December ladies!! Advent chocolate with breakfast - yum!!
Weighed myself last night and have now put on 3kg since my 12 week scan - and there I was worrying about not having put any on! Boobs and bump seem to have ballooned over night. Now weighing the most I ever have, but to my surprise did manage to squeeze in to 2 pre-pregnancy dresses (stretchy material) that I am thinking of wearing to our works Christmas Party on 17th - though not sure if they will still fit in 2 weeks time, either that or I'll wear one and split it when I sit down! lol :0)
This time next week we will be looking at our little angel on the screen, starting to have irrational thoughts again that they will find something wrong but I guess thats normal.
Already got my Saturday planned, going to do a freebie run. Have vouchers for Emmas diary pack from Argos, free pack of Nature nappies, free Mother & baby pack from Sainsburys and money off vouchers for Pampers :0)
Alizee, sorry to hear things are not going well for you, but glad to hear they are keeping a close eye on you xx0 -
Hello everyone
I'm new to this board but thought I'd join and say hello. I'm 12 weeks pregnant today and having my scan on Monday. I have already had a scan a few weeks ago as my midwife thought I may be having a ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. It was very scary but it seems everything's ok and we got to hear the foetal heart beat which was amazing
Not told many people yet apart from close family and a raft of medical people - I have drug controlled epilepsy and hydrocephalus which shouldn't have an effect on the baby but no one wants to take any chances including me.
Hoping that the scan shows everything is still ok so that we can start telling friends and extended family - no one knew we were trying for a baby because my doctors expected it to take a long time for us to conceive but we were really lucky.
I don't know about anyone else but I find it a bit strange and hard to believe that I'm pregnant. I don't look pregnant and I don't have many symptoms - the lack of menstural period, slightly sore breasts and a constant mild headache which could all be something else so until I had the miscarriage scare the only evidence was the little blue cross on the pregnancy test.
It's very exciting, just feels a bit unreal, does that make sense?
Anyway I should probably stop 'talking' now. Congratulations to everyone0 -
Welcome MrsManda, good luck for your scan. I know what you mean about it feeling unreal, it still does for me and I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and have been feeling baby move for 4 weeks now!!
Laura, I know what you mean about worrying about them finding something wrong on the scan. i didn't worry much about my 16 week growth/cervix scan but I'm more worried about this one as they are more likely to be able to see any abnormalities! I guess my experience of scans where they check for things being wrong is a bit off putting after my high risk downs syndrome result. I have it in my head that they might find some of the downs syndrome markers, i don't know why when we had the CVS and know our baby definately doesn't have any chromosonal problems!0 -
Alizee I'm sorry I accidentally pressed the spam button on one of your posts, so sorry!Sealed Pot Challenge Member #8810

Hmm, feeling a bit disappointed, my pregnancy file says to call the unit between 18 - 20 weeks to book on their antenatal classes but when I called they don't do them any more because of the cuts, only a breastfeeding class (which may be cut before April) and a unit tour. I understand why they've made this decision but just looked at the NCT classes and they're really quite expensive so we have some weighing up to do!
18+5 and I weighed myself this morning, I lost a lot of weight pre-pregnancy and have only put on 3 pounds so far, I have a really healthy appetite but just cannot put the weight on, think I will mention it at my scan next week.
Headed to Ikea tonight to look at the Leksvik nursery furniture as it matches our master bedroom furniture and looks really cute, am excited although we still haven't bought anything yet as we wanted to wait til 20 week scan it seems like lots of you are buying so I might just satisfy my urge and pick up a few little bits and bobs for our LO!0 -
I haven't bought any of the big stuff yet, want to wait till after the 20 week scan but I have gone quite mad on nappy stocking with the vouchers. I now have 250 of them, mostly size one but 88 size 2. Do I have a problem lol0

No Laura! I was about 15/16 weeks and there was an awesome glitch on Mothercare, so I bought hundreds of nappies. Should see how many we have now
I may take a picture later and upload for amusement.

I think you should! Gutted I missed it, what did they do?
I remember the good old days of the Tesco DTD, didn't clock on till about 3 weeks before they stopped it but loved seeing the pictures of peoples hoards!0 -

It was 3for2 and then loads of discount codes worked, £5 off x 3 or 4 can't remember and 15% too I think. I ended up getting £80 worth of nappies and wipes for £28 or somethingThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Amymo, I am doing the NCT classes as I've heard such good things about them from lots of people. When I told my midwife she was really pleased and said they are really good, much better than the NHS ones. I will be doing the NHS one too though as I want to see if there is anyhting specific to my hospital that I need to know. The NCT one is costing me £130 for 2 days (10am-4pm I think), they try to get you to join and pay £40 membership too but you don't have to, it's optional.
I felt my baby kick yesterday for the first time, well I think I might have the day before too actually but didn't realise what it was!
19 weeks today! And scan a week today eeeeekkk!!!0
