  • I agree, nothing in my two local towns, not even in tesco, asda, sainsbury's, big next on retail park, etc.

    Well done on the bargains!

Well. the Downs test came back as low risk 1 in 1,500 so that's something positive today.

I got a result on maternity stuff from DP, got the 30% off and managed to find a code for 15% off that worked on top! :0) Have ordered a coat, jumper, jeggins and a top all for £78 including delivery, not bad considering the coat would have been £69.99 on its own in the shop!

I must say, I am really disappointed at the lack of maternity stuff available on the high street, especially Next who have a lovely range on line and only about 10 different items in the store if you are lucky! I think a maternity clothing only store would make a fortune - if only I had the money to open one!

Ooh well done, lots of goodies! I ordered a few more bits and they came today, now my leggings fit but there's a lot of room in them, not sure whether to go the next size down but then they could get too tight as I grow! I think I'll keep them to grow into! I got a top for £5 that I like and a dress I really like but OH thinks I've gone mad, not my usual style but then there isn't much out there in my usual style, I think it's cute though and this might just be my 'maternity style'!

Midwife was lovely as always today, got to hear the heart beating nice and strong which was amazing! She confirmed my height and tummy muscles mean I'm difficult to "palpate" (going to look that up) and said not to feel down about my lack of bump as I might well pop in the weeks ahead :rotfl:

I was like that, for ages I was pushing my stomach out, but just looked stupid or like I'd just over done the food on the weekend and then BOOM out it came at about 20 weeks, but even then it depended on what clothes I was wearing. Now at 23+5 have a little bump :)

I'm gonna have to move over to the other thread soon :D must say though my back is really starting to ache now, V shape pillow helps, but still I can't complain I haven't had any other pregnancy problems like morning sickness or fatigue.
    Got married 13/11/10 :)

Me too! I just CAN'T get any work trousers! I want over the bump ones and the only ones I've managed to find are the one's Kira posted about from next but they are wide leg and I don't do wide leg, especially as they always look particularly wide on me due to having skinny legs!! I know I wouldn't wear them! I'll probably end up having to wear leggings or jeans and they'll have to like it or lump it!!!

I haven't yet managed to find a next that has maternity stuff instore, i just keep getting told its online only. i don't really like shoppignonline though, especially for anything for my bottom half as I'm a wierd shape and struggle to find things that fit.

Brilliant news! Always very pleased for people who get a result like that, wouldn't wish a 'high risk' result on my worst enemy!!

I picked up a moses basket that I won on ebay last night, its like brand new and the lady gave me a little rocking chair thing for baby for free too!!

Lola, how do you use the v-shaped pillow to help your back? mine is starting to play up already and I think my mum has a v-shaped pillow so I could give it a try!

Must have forgot to add myself on before. I had my 17week check on Monday. All was fine although I couldn't really understand the midwife as she had a strong accent so I didn't ask any of the questions I wanted to ask. One more week to go before I finish my breastfeeding peer supporter training so if anyone has any questions you can start planning them now!

Oh yeah, just wanted to add a bit about beds. I know lots of people start buying cots and baskets but just wanted to suggest that people think about how they want to sleep first. We did bed sharing which, as long as it's done safely, has many benefits. So we never used a basket. We did buy a bedside cot as we only have a double bed and the extra room and sides so we knew LO wouln't fall out were good. I would definitely recommend it and if you are planning on breastfeeding it makes the all important night feeds that much easier.

You could try emailing Next customer services and ask them to tell you the nearest shop that stocks the maternity stuff? You might like them on :) Topshop dont have any over the bump ones at the moment but I have two different styles of the under bump ones and they are very comfortable and the bump doesnt get cold. Gap have a pair and if you sign up to their mailing list you get 15% off your first order: http://www.gap.eu/browse/product.do?cid=69513&vid=1&pid=849049

Great result on ebay, I was thinking about getting a moses basket from there too.

18 weeks today - my gosh its flown by!!!
