Ooo lovely. They were asking for people to take part in a study at the maternity hospital I go to but I opted out as this is our first pregnancy and I want it to be more personal. I wish I had done it now though as you get extra scans for free :0( Oh well.

I will probably pay to have a private one done at about 28 weeks as my 20 week scan is 8th december and I cant wait a whole 4 months to see baby again!!

A whole 4 months Laura - am i missing something?!? It is November already......

I wouldn't want a 4d scan now, I did but I don't want to know the sex so I'd be scared of seeing something. Or is it not that clear to see?

I have my scan today and am really looking forward to it :) :T

They really dont recommend wearing underwired bras at all during late PG and afterwards, as the wires can do things to the milk ducts. I've been in non underwire bras since about month 4 due to boob expansion and not being comfy in "normal" bras, and switched to maternity/bursing bras about month 6! You could try finding a non underwire "normal" bra instead.. especially useful if you have to wear it at night, which is pretty common during PG !

They don't recommend underwired bras in pregnancy at all. Full stop. I didn't know this until i got measured at marks and spencer a few weeks ago. However I am more comfortable in my underwired padded bra than the ones I bought so I have swapped back......not wearing the non-underwired at the min. If it was such a big deal re the underwired bra's, why do midwifes not tell us, or have somehting in the purple book that you get given from NHS at first midwife appt????

at this point, when my boobs are still quite sore, i feel like my underwired lightly padded bras are the most comfortable, i'm a DD, slowly approaching an E and non-wired bra's make my breasts hurt because they offer less support - maybe i'm wearing the wrong non-wired ones?

I have my last scan on 8th Decemebr and I am not due until 25th April so 4 months is right isn't it, or do I have a very bad case of baby brain???

    Enjoy your scan :D

As DD cup pre pregnancy, non-wried bras weren't really an option for me, but since about 10 weeks, I've been wearing the non wired bravado seamless nursing bra. It's very comfy and supportive. It comes in 4 different sizes so you know it will grow with you and you don't have to keep buying more and more. :)

Same here with the boobies, I am simply not comfy in non-underwired ones and as I am the one stuck the uncomfy boobies I'll wear what I want :p

I have seen some nice underwired nursing bras so I will invesigate these when the time comes.

I am wondering what an underwire can do the milk ducts anyway? The underwire fits under and around the boob - it doesn't go anywhere near the actual boob tissue. If it does the bra can't be fitted right????

    Anyone?

Just checked and Figleaves (and others) and lots of very nice underwired nursing bras - they are expensive but I think they'll get a fair amount of wear ;)

I shall be getting measured at M&S post Elvis arrival and splurging on a few lovely bras
