i know i just wasnt sure if they still do them, i didnt think they did but it appears they do.
you know, the first thing on my list today is going in the shower and getting dressed, a simple concept, but sitting down and drinking tea seems to be much more appealing right now.
ETA: going into town isnt going to happen today, just read int he paper prince charles is visiting town today, so parking will be a nightmare.0 -
Im going to book to do the classes at our local hopsital but thinking about doing the NCT ones too. Im not sure about the money as they seem expensive but I dont know any other Mums in the area as I ve not lived here long so Id like to meet some Mummy friends if I can.
Im the first of my group of friends to have a baby and Im a bit worried that I'll feel isolated from them after baby is born. My family live far away too and although we will visit each other lots (as long as baby can handle a 3 hour car journey!) it would be great to have a local support network of people going through the same things and people I can meet during the day when my other friends are at work.
Also, Thankyou Kira for the book recommendation, definitely going to order that!0 -
Lovecrafting, same here haha, didnt see the point in classes with DD2 or DD3! Just go with the flow!
Charli, snap, we live 3 hours from the nearest family member. Have lived her for 2 yrs and made some good friends from going to toddler/baby groups. Maybe contact ur local surestart centre to see if there are any groups along the lines of "bumps and babes" for pregnant woment to go to, sometimes there r breastfeeding mums there that will chat to you about how they coped and give advise.
Going to jump in the shower in a min ( not washed my hair since Friday:eek::eek::eek:) as finally feel like doing it! Then off to find something to wear to this funeral, i dont think joggers/legging/jeans will be acceptable, altho BIL knew what i was like so would prob expect me to turn up in pjs and dressing gown anyways :rotfl:
Have a good day ladies (and bumps :j ) xxMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,and a handsome lil BOY 03.03.12 :T

emmylou i hope the funeral goes well. (what a nightmare that was finding the words, you cant say good luck or have a good time its hard to wish you well when its a funeral) and you find something to wear.
well i am showered and dressed, managed to get out of going to the old house, DH is going to go wile i wait in for my sister. i will have to go and do one run later on but at least i get out of it for now. omg i just noticed how disgusting my living room window is, thats going to have to get cleaned.0 -

Charli thats one of my main reasons for going to the NCT ones. I moved 30 miles away from family and friends (not THAT far I know!) to live with DH and I don't know anyone where we live so hoping to find so other mummies to go for walks/coffee etc.0 -
What are NCT ones? I was only told about the ones at the doctors surgery?
Hope you are all doing well. I thought after 12 weeks you were supposed to start feeling better but was awful yesterday. Had a migraine I couldn't shift and felt really sick all day. OH took the day off work to look after me which was nice :0) Really didn't want to take any paracetamol but the non medicinal 4head thing wasn't doing anything so gave in and took 1 before bed. Feeling a bit better now. I can't wait till I get to the stage where I can enjoy being pregnant, the only time I feel better is when I look at the picture of my little baby, then I know its all worth while :0)0 -
NCT is the National Childbirth Trust and they do classes that you can pay for. They also do other events, my local group organises a monthly pram walk and things like that. they also organise the 'nearly new' sales that you might have heard people talking about....apparently they are good for picking up good secondhand clothes and equipment for baby.
I'm also still feeling quite sicky laura, was ok yesterday but have spent all this morning munching rich tea biscuits to try get rid of it! Its not exactly a sick feeling just a generally yukky one!! I feel a bit better now I've had my lunch.0
