I know I shouldn't be in this thread but my first grandchild is due on the 21st Feb 2012. What I was wondering is if any of you have had a 3D scan and if so how much do they cost? I have Googled but some say as cheap as £95 and I thought they were several hundreds of pounds. Also what is the best stage of pregnancy to get one done? I'd love to treat my daughter to one. She is 15 weeks.
Gillyx is right, you get the best results if you wait till later.. Cost wise it depends very much where you are and the package you get- inclusive of pics, exclusive of pics, dvds, duration etc etc. We got a great package (in Berkshire/Surrey border) inclusive of an early confirmation scan, an 18 week 4d scan, and a final 26 week scan. Where abouts are you? Maybe someone here can recommend a place near you if we know?Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Do I need to go with a full bladder or not?
I just assumed I needed to go with a full bladder, so got to hospital 30 minutes as I usually do because I hate being late. By the time my appointment came and went I was uncomfortable ... by the time it was running 45 minutes late I felt like my bladder was going to split open. OH went to ask at reception how long appt was going to be and if I had time to wee and refill, so to speak. Receptionist informed him I didn't need a full bladder, by then I was in so much pain I could not walk to the toilet unaided, but it was the best wee I've EVER hadJust as wll he went to ask because in the end my appt ran 2 hours late

We bought the Maxi Cosi pebble, it came with the Mura 4. I know i'm only just gone 13 weeks but we got the car seat, pram body and pushchair all for £420 brand new! bargain. We would have bought it anyway as this was both out car seat and pushchair of choice. Another good thing about the pebble is the base you buy for it also fits the older car seat so you don't have to pay out for 2 seperate bases
Thanks, does it look pretty flat with the newborn insert in? That's my main concern, as I was reading about how newborns shouldn't stay too long in their carseats because of the angle they're sat at, and the Pebble was one of the few the site recommended. Not sure if I'll have the base or not, I haven't got that far yet!
I'm 22 + *counts on fingers* 3 I think? So far I've bought a selection of clothes wherever I've seen nice ones secondhand, and got two free packs of newborn nappies. That's it so far. I'll buy the bigger stuff when I'm later on and less nervous!
I don't know if my hospital had better equipment or not, but I was astounded by how scans had moved on since my last one 14 years ago. He showed us the blood pumping through the heart, and even told us the baby's bladder was full! :shocked:0 -

:rotfl: :rotfl: I know that feeling!
Thanks for the input everyone! Think I'll ring the hospital next week to double check what they want, I hate being desperate for a wee so if I don't need a full bladder then I want to know!:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Hi ladies,a bit of an embarrassing one:o
Has anyone else noticed their wee having a really strong smell, particularly late in the day and during the night? I've never had this before and if I had to describe it,I'd say it was almost fishy, but not quite. I don't have any other symptoms:o is this a normal preg symptom or should I see my doctor?
Hey Lucy,
I'm no expert but would say with any smells associated with urine to go and get em checked out just in case as smelly urine often indicates infection particularly on an ongoing basis. I'd say they are the best people to ask it may of course be nothing and simply normal for you these days however its always best to be safe than sorry.
If you're seeing your m/w soon i.e nxt couple of days get her to dip a sample and ask if she will send it off (tbh she probably will anyway if you tell her what you're experiencing) just to run a routine culture on it :0)

Hey everyone,
Haven't posted much lately didn't wanna bore you with all of my usual moans and grumbles :rotfl:
We're ok here really just the usual SPD to contend with but hey ho I'm now on sick leave from work for the next 6 wks which takes me to my extended annual leave and then maternity leave and I have to say I'm actually missing work and all my patients ! How sad eh ? lol
We've done quite a bit of buying in the last few weeks but can't remember it all to write a list even bought my first tub of formula the other day not buying much of that though just in case it doesn't agree with baby, thanks to all who replied to my bottles question on the main board we eventually went for Dr Browns and got them in the boots deal so saved money toovery MSE !
We have managed to get some money back from our wedding which had been booked to go ahead in November the venue were very unreasonable about us changing dates and still lost £500 but we also got £500 back so just waiting for the funds to clear then gonna buy some more stuff for baby I have no objection to 2nd hand and could get everything I needed with £500 but OH wants all new since this is his one and only child GRRRRRRR men eh ?
Were 18wks and 4days today and 20wk scan is 14th Sept I'm gonna get them to check the sex again I still feel like this baby is a girl I feel so like I did when I was pregnant with my DD who I lost I'm also still throwing up never had that with my boys I've also scared myself by reading that gender scans at 16wks aren't all that accurate and what looks like a penis could infact be swollen girly bits at that stage of development I'm a bit sad about it all and wish i'd known that prior to the scan or I would've delayed it a bit I've now got a bond with this little "boy" I'm supposedly carrying and will be gutted if we now switch teams I dunno maybe I'm stressing over nothing and he is a he I just don't feel confident about it all, anyone had gender misdiagnosed so to speak ? Lots of stories about oh I heard about a woman that happenned to but never spoken to anyone directly who had it happen to them ?
For arguments sake unless I find out different he is still my little Rhys he's a very active baby and kicks are fairly strong now I feel like I'm wishing my life away to meet him I'm sure I'm not the only one here doing that though.
Hope everyone else's bumps are well

Amanda.. they told me 3 times DD1 was a boy.. she had very swollen girly bits when she was born. I do know a couple of other it has happened to as well.. but they do say it isnt 100% accurate when they tell you.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Morale of this story, don't go all out with the pink/blue until you can see the baby in the flesh! :eek:The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Pigpen... if I could've placed a bet on this happening to anyone here strangely enough it would've been you :rotfl::rotfl:how odd is that lol ! And did you feel like they were wrong at the time ?
I'm just so i'll and was only ever like this with my girl OH insists I am wrong and we saw it on the scan we did see the three lines yeah but I don't think it is conclusive by any stretch and googling pics I doubt it even more I could kick myself actually because that was in my mind the definitive answer and it clearly isn't.
Gilly I already bought some blue - that said they are vests and I could cover them if necessary I've just got this gut feeling. My boys I always knew were boys but my DD I didn't accept she was a girl either but she was my first so didn't really know what to expect either way really I just can't shake it off and I dunno why OH thinks it must mean I subconciously really wanted a girl but I honestly couldn't care a less as long as he/she is ok and I was surprised but happy when they said boy I just on reflection do not believe it.

Well you've another scan to go, so you can see what they say.
