See this is where I'm confused, do I want over the bump or under? I normally wear boyfriend fit or skinny, but I won't be buying skinny jeans, I've a feeling they may cut off my circulation.

Well, that's down to individual preference!

Some people can't stand the over the bump ones and other people think the under the bump ones are pointless.

Since we're due in winter the over bump will provide an extra layer for warmth, but some people do find them uncomfy.

Which ones are you looking at? If you post a link I might be able to explain a bit xx

In both the dark colour and the lighter ones.

I actually have the non maternity jeans, in both colours of the exact same style! They are around my belly, not above but not so my stomach is hanging out. So I'm worried incase my whole stomach is out, but I guess once it gets bigger it's not the same as having over hang? :o

Thanks, does it look pretty flat with the newborn insert in? That's my main concern, as I was reading about how newborns shouldn't stay too long in their carseats because of the angle they're sat at, and the Pebble was one of the few the site recommended. Not sure if I'll have the base or not, I haven't got that far yet! :D

Well it was delivered last nigh :j but it staying at my Mums. Went over to make sure all bits and pieces were there and all worked. I insisted DH bought the pram body as well as i didn't want baby to be in the car seat for long periods of time. Actually seeing the car seat all set up and with the newborn insert it looks great. It's very flat and i would be more than happy for baby to be in this. Haven't admitted this to DH :rotfl:

All 5 of my maternity trousers / jeans are from Next so far (via ebay). Really nice fit, very comfy, and actually look nice :D I'm currently in the 'over bump' trousers. I do feel a bit 'Simon Cowell' with a waistband this high, but I think I'm getting used to it. :rotfl: The other advantage is that I don't have maternity tops yet, so my jumpers are starting to sit a little higher, and that means I don't have a gap.

The underbump ones are nice too, and when I collected one of the pairs the seller said she found underbump really useful later on as it was much more supportive.

I'm a size 10-12 in non-maternity trousers, and have bought size 8 and 10 in Next maternity. 8 is a perfect fit, 10 still slightly loose on one pair but the others are fine. However I lost weight in the first 3 months and am only now back up to where I was before pregnancy!

Was laying down on my back last night, and got some really good kicks - enough that DH was able to feel them! Are they supposed to be this energetic this early (18 weeks tomorrow)?!?!

I guess it's different with a bump, but I just think of people with bellys wearing low cut jeans and I've not got a good image in my head! I think I will have to go try them on and see how I feel!

You're lucky Bluebell! I want energetic kicks.

Thanks, sounds like what I want then. :) With a 3 hour drive to various people, it needs to be as good as possible!

Maternity jeans, I've not found a pair I'm happy with yet! :D Luckily I'm getting them from Ebay either new or almost new, but I got two pairs of under the bump in an 8 that I can't get into without them pinching (dunno if this is because baby likes to sit low?). One pair of 8s that sit kind of halfway and were huuuuuge, I've had to pull the adjustable elastic as tight as it'll go to keep them on. And one pair of 10s over the bump, which were enormous and I've ripped the stretchy bit first day I wore them, hitching them up all the time!

I'm now a confirmed dungaree fan, I didn't take mine off all bank hol! Luckily the other half thinks they look great and keeps telling me to wear them. :D Only drawback is you have to take your jumper off to get out of them every time you wee! :D

Gilly I do like those ones! Obviously you need to wear longer line tops... No one wants to look like a builder called Dave :rotfl:

I'm not the skinniest so I stick to the dark ones.

I do love that cardigan too, and I'm skint!

They had them in store so I guess I will have to go try them on. I normally hate clothes shopping as it is, not looking forward to squeezing into a tiny cubicle now. Ooh also the lighter ones aren't that light, I'm not that skinny either and I think they look okay on me :o

I have a cardigan so similar to that but it has a tie belt! I got 2 for £20 from peacocks and they're so cosy. That one would look good with a belly though. I want to shop, it's my birthday soon, maybe someone will be generous :o

Morning everyone, loving all the lists. Taking some ideas away too for when I start buying. Keep them coming...... :)

Delain - I was about to ask the difference between sleepsuits and the bodysuits. The bodysuits seems to be short sleeve and legs, so I'm guessing more suitable in summer? And why don't they just call the sleepsuits babygrows. It's all very confusing :rotfl:

tiny_tear - welcome! Nice to see someone else who's not bought much. I guess I'm still nervous until I get the next scan out of the way. Not sure my will power will hold out for another 4 weeks though ;)

lucy - I get stronger smelling urine sometimes too. It's not a bad or foul smell, just like a strong smell. I've been tested for infection and things at the midwife appointments and all was clear, so nothing to worry about for me. I guess with all the hormones etc, it's fairly normal, although if it is a bad or foul smell, I'd say to get it checked out. Try and ensure you're drinking enough water too. Also helps with stretch marks :rotfl:

Always alone - I often wonder exactly where the baby is, and like you, I'm clueless too :rotfl: I did google this a while back trying to get some pictures, but no luck in finding anything.......

I like next clothing, but I haven't bought anything maternity from Next yet. I think I'd grow out of it too soon. I like the higher waistband normally, so over the bump would be my preference. I'm wearing my £2.50 trousers from Matalan Clearance today. They're so comfy. Need to pop down and see if they have anything new in. I'd usually shop at next, debenhams etc, but I just can't justify the cost when things just won't last. I'd never bought anything in Matalan until a week or two ago..... lol

Aimless - I know it's mean, but it's nice to see skinny women like you struggling with the right fit in jeans etc too. I thought it was just us 'cuddly women' who had this problem :rotfl:

darkphaery - how exciting that your car seat has arrived. Must make everything seem all the more real..... :D I can't wait to start shopping :j
