i declined the downs blood test, purely for the reason that i will love this baby no matter what and there didnt seem any point in having it then.
as my mum always says "Whats for you will not go by you"
I think it's a definately a personal choice whether or not to have any sort of screening in pregnancy.
I accepted nuchal screening and bloods in this pregnancy - this doesn't mean I don't love my baby no matter what but I have 2 other children and I would have found in helpful to know in advance and be pro active as jcr16 says.
Also I felt since the screening picks up things other than downs for me it was useful.0 -
Double posted somehow with myself?!0

Claireloo hope you hear something soon, it can be frustrating to wait! Are you off somewhere nice?
I don't know! Its a surprise for my *whispers* 30th on 9th April. I am so excited but am panicking about packing - its hard enough to know what to take when you don't know where you're going but now I have the added problem that I actually need to buy clothes which will fit me while away. :rotfl:Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -

I turned 30 when my first DS was 4 weeks old - it wasn't much of a celebration - me, my mum and my best friend and a chocolate cake! plus my matchsticks for my eyes!0 -

i get the nuchal screening at my 20 week scan, which is another reason for me not to get the bloods done.
even if they told me i was high risk i wouldnt have the amniocentesis, due to the risk.
i hope Ecoelle is ok0
