    Hi ladies,

Well after my 4 days from sickness hell I am starting to feel normal again - yay!!

Went to see my GP yesterday and he has given me cyclizine tablets for my sickness and oral electrolyte powder to keep me hydrated. I took my first tablet yesterday and felt better after about 30 minultes! Managed to eat a proper tea and slept like a log. Woke up this morning and had cereal and toast and had a sandwich for lunch and no sickness at all!

I now actually love my Doctor for giving me these tablets, he has given my 3 weeks supply and wants me to go back for a review in a fortnight. I'm wondering if he will keep me on them, or I will stop after 3 weeks, should have asked really.

He was slightly concerned about my weight, but now I'm mananging to keep my food down, I should hopefully stop losing and start gaining a little.

When you've felt so rubbish you really appreciate feeling normal again. Feeling happier today than I have in a long time!!

    xxx

Glad to hear you're feeling better Jannine :)

The bootie now has a second one to go with it - even more useful than just one... Apparently DH is going to make another pair for when those are in the wash, in two colours, he's really getting adventurous! I will have to have knitting lessons from him, as I haven't a clue where to start. He's also getting on with redecorating the living room as well. I think he's turning into a pretty good house husband ;)

Talking about knitting, my Mum has decided to start and really wants to knit some cardigans for me! I have visions of them with 3 arms and 2 head holes!

Evening all. Been catching up, so glad to hear that you are doing better jannine. Sounded awful.

Apparently I now have a bump - at 21 weeks! Was doing pretty well at hiding baby under the fat rolls, but not so much any more. However, only people who know I am preg have said this, and as most of my workmates don't know I think I'm just going to wait for the first one to brave asking if I'm just getting fat or there's a better reason :rotfl:

Also been looking at prams and trying to talk DH into the one I want. I think it may be a bit early to get one, plus we have nowhere to put it, but with mothercare 15% off and quidco it's a pretty good deal at the mo.

I have a question for anyone who has experience of cats and babies... what if anything will I need extra? Got a donation of a cat net coming so the baby can have cat free time downstairs and she will be sleeping behind closed doors upstairs. Then there will be stairgates in the hall for when she gets mobile so she doesn't end up eating catfood or litter:eek: Anything else you guys can think of? Aside from me worrying that the cats might leave home when the baby comes, it seems other people think there could be far more issues than I do! Mind you, when I say we have 5 of them it usually makes even cat lovers look at me in horror:rotfl:

I have always had cats and babies and they have never bothered.. occasionally I have had to kick the furry out of the cribs but I keep a fitted cot sheet which I pop over the top when it is unoccupied other than that I have never had anything special.

What pram is it you are interested in crabapple? I got my pram from mamas and papas and they're keeping a hold of it until we need it, but I remember speaking to the girl in Mothercare and she said to me that a small deposit will secure the pram for you and you will still get the 15% off :) you just need to pay the final balance 28 days before you want to collect/have it delivered.

Thanks Pigpen, figured I really didn't need to worry too much beyond what I'd thought of. My main concern is that all the cats are rescue so we don't know what experience they have with kids. The only one we've had from a kitten definitely doesn't like little ones - runs out the catflap like his tail is on fire!

One of my work colleagues said her cat was so protective of her DS as a baby that she used to growl and hiss at anyone she didn't think should come near, including her MIL!!

Gillyx - that's quite handy to know. I was thinking of storage at my parents for the timebeing as they have far more room than us, but waiting for delivery could be a good idea. I want an oyster, but I think I need to go check a few out properly as I'm just going on the two or three that friends have and what I like best of them. I may be being a bit swayed by all the colour options as well.

And bluebell, that is ace! I've had some sock/bootie things knitted by a friend's mum who is great at these things. God alone knows what I would get if DH tried knitting! I am hoping he will decorate the nursery as he can paint, but I'm a bit concerned that he will overthink it and try to create far more than the cartoony characters I have in mind. I guess we'll see when I make him get started...

I'm not 100% sure if Mothercare do the order and storage thing but I know they do the deposit, so they're hardly likely to let you have it without paying it all, so I'm assuming they do :)

I really liked the Oyster aswell actually, my OH didn't :( excellent price too!
