Crabapple - I've got 3 cats, and share the same worries! I've been looking at getting
a screen door to put over room baby is in. I've seen these instant ones. Not sure how
good they are as they are cheap!DFD February 2012

Oooooh, just ordered our Isofix base- the Maxi cosi Family fix, to go with the cabriofix seat we bought. Been waiting to buy the base- you can use it for 3 different seats, up to 3.5 years of age. Its usually £150, just for the base hence why we were waiting. Its been on Amazon at £112 for a while which was the cheapest we found it, so were waiting for a bit of cash to come in, BUT just been on amazon for something else and its dropped to £99!!! Plus you can get double nectar points on Amazon till 2nd Sept! Result!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Went to see my GP yesterday and he has given me cyclizine tablets for my sickness and oral electrolyte powder to keep me hydrated. I took my first tablet yesterday and felt better after about 30 minultes! Managed to eat a proper tea and slept like a log. Woke up this morning and had cereal and toast and had a sandwich for lunch and no sickness at all!
Jannine that is such good news :j I was the same, within half an hour of taking the first tablet I had 4 slices of toast to eat, which was unheard of when I had MS. I think that after 2 weeks your GP might want you to try and come off them to see how you are for a few days, then if you do feel sick again you still have a few left until you can get another prescription.0 -
Crabapple (we just got a bag of those of freecycle, crab apple and chili jelly coming up), our main worry is that our cat is terrified of sudden movements and loud noises, and she just hides whenever any children come to visit. We hope that she'll be able to cope when the baby arrives! As for the litter tray, ours is in the kitchen and we really have no idea how to baby proof it. Our cat is really not at all agile (age 10-12ish, fat, lazy) and barely makes it onto the sofa, so lifting the tray up just isn't an option. Maybe a stairgate across the kitchen door with a cat sized hole...
Incidentally, if MSE don't mind a bit of blatant advertising, please consider entering this cat photo competition http://cambridge.cats.org.uk/cambridge/news/annual-photographic-competition. I used to organise it before I moved away
It was really bizarre this morning, when I lay flat on my back normally my bump goes away, but when I woke up this morning there was still a bump! It was really obvious, and it definitely wasn't there when I went to bed!
I tried knitting last night but I'm having physio for sore upper back muscles and I just found it too painful. I managed to knit a row of 20 stitches before giving up! Think I will stick to cross stitch. DH is getting on well with booties number 2, so I'm sure he'll be able to knit enough for the baby by himself!0 -

Ahh Bluebell you're only a few days behind me and when I woke up this morning ( I don't have a bump I don't think ) but my cushioned stomach shall we say felt hard, not as flabby! The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Hi Ladies,
Well day 2 for me of feeling normal - those tablets are bloomin great!
Just been to Morrison's to do my weekly and came home with a travel cot and packs of huggies baby wipes from the Baby and toddler Event! The travel cot was £27.00 which I thought was reasonable.
I have been going through numbers today and I'm sooo confused, hope somebody can help me! I currently work full time and so does my hubby. When I've had the baby in Feb, I hope to return to work in September (work in a school so makes sense) I will only be going back 4 days a week and only working term time plus 3 weeks in the summer! I have been trying to see if we will be entitled to any help with childcare and I'm confused.com!!
Tax credits take into a ccount income from the last year, so does that mean for the first year of baby's life we would get no help? I've never claimed anything before and the online calculator doesn't make sense to me! Any idea's?
Hope all are well and taking it easy!

Yes, ring the tax credit helpline and ask. That's what it's there for!
Do the calculator again with the baby's DOB as yesterday (as it doesn't take pregnancy into account)
When the time comes, fill the forms in as honestly as possible. Your payments will start within a couple of weeks of you applyingMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

So... it might be too soon but I've ordered my oyster, with red colour pack. Had a long debate with DH about the right colour, would have preferred blue but as team pink seems a bit odd. I didn't like any of the other options. Figured if I get it now there are offers on plus I have a few months at work to regain the money I spent!!
Mozzy and bluebell - I guess we'll all have to see what the furbabes do! I'm not sure about a screen door, we have one cat who is a big bruiser and I can imagine him just walking straight through it, demolishing all in his path :rotfl:. The youngest cat is the one who has proved really scared when young children come round, but maybe it will be easier with a baby rather than the toddlers he has met so far. Bluebell, I was figuring on gates with the odd hole cut in if necessary so where we have the food bowls and litter tray can be separated off.
Jannine, I really hope someone knows the answer, because it's a mystery to me. I saw the stuff that said we have to apply based on the previous years earnings, which just means they will say we aren't entitled to anything as together me and DH would be over the limits, but based on the figures we will be entitled to something if I am not working for all that time. Seems like a really perverse system where I can't just explain that I normally earn x but because of maternity pay I will actually be on y.:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls
