Went to Silverstone today, I tried not to walk too much but I ache now! Ideal outing for my 'new' Ebay dungarees though, I'm decided, no more stupid maternity jeans for me, I'm going to wear them forever. :D

    Congrats on Team Blue Moneysavingmamma!

I love the pram Gillyx, very smart :)

Still drinking the usual amount of milk here (just a bowlful on cereal), we have purple top now which is not quite skimmed - still tastes 'normal' to me, but when I tried full fat recently it was just so creamy I really didn't like it!

I was awake stupidly early yesterday so dragged DH out of bed to go the car boot sale. Think it was a bad idea really as I bought things I never knew I wanted... LOL, thought they were supposed to save money. Anyway, we now have a Moses basket because it was pretty and cost £6 along with a baby carrier sling thingy. Was planning to just get a cot, but never mind :-) Also bought a mini laundry basket for baby washing, and a cat bed (she's been happily sleeping an a cardboard box for 2 years, so thought she might like an upgrade), and another cat carrier.... The cat carrier is a lot smaller than our current one, we were worried we wouldn't get baby and cat in the car, as our current one is designed for 2 largeish dogs, new one is more like one smaller dog sized! Our cat likes a bit of space to wander round when travelling. Big one is now on ebay so fingers crossed that will sell.

DH is going back to the second hand shop to buy the £35 cot today, my Dad said he'd pay for it for us, which was sweet of him - just hope it's not sold already. So now we should have a choice of sleeping areas for baby when it arrives!

Have decided to keep our current car, and not get a different one. Decided I'd be too sad to sell Ermintrude, so we're going to do the few little jobs that she needs and keep her going for a while longer - and I'm sure the giant estate will come in useful. DH says just because it has 7 seats I'm not to fill them with children ;) I suspect that 1 or 2 will be enough though!

gillyx - That pram looks lovely. I've not started looking yet. Not buying til Oct, so not really even looked around :rotfl:

moneysavingmamma - congrats on team blue. Look forward to following you to the "big" thread. :D

I like that milk too. It's 1%. (Semi skimmed is 2%). Very popular in the US and Canada, but hasn't really caught on here yet. The only problem is that we found the use-by dates were always quite short. Probably not a problem right now, as we're drinking more, but I'm buying cravendale at the moment, as the dates are always really long ;)

    :(Hi Ladies,

Hope you are all well. I've had the weekend from hell, I've been sick constantly now since Thursday evening and I don't know what to do. I've got an appointment to see my Doctor this afternoon, I hope she can give me something or at least sign me off work. I've been off since Thursday and there is no way I can go in like this, I'm throwing up every time I eat and drink, feeling so fed up and sad now. My husband is leaving work early to take me, I'm not safe to drive, I feel that weak. I'm really worried about my weight loss as well, I've lost over a stone now and weigh less then I've done since I was a teenager.

I never expected pregnancy to be this hard.

Sorry for the moan, but so fed up now.

    xx

Ah we'd been looking for a few weeks, and had traipsed around loads of shops on Saturday from large chains, to small independent shops and we couldn't find one we liked better than that one. They were doing the free Aton car seat until the end of August, so we figured we would be as well ordering it. It is a bit more than I would have liked to spend but every time I looked at other prams my heart sank, I just didn't like them as much. Probably wouldn't have rushed in though if it wasn't for the free car seat and adapter which would have cost us £165 on top if we had decided on that make and model in a months time.

We buy Cravendale too :D because we do our grocery order fortnightly it lasts us the 2 weeks!

How many weeks are you hun? have you tried ice lollies, ice cream etc it really help when i went through my very sick stage. I wasnt as bad as you have been though. The doc should be able to give you anti sickness then eat little and often. and you should get signed off until you feel stronger

I'm 16 weeks now, and feeling very worried about the baby. In early pregnancy I felt ok, slightly sicky, but not actually being sick. I've got so much worse the past few weeks.

I've tried ice lollies thanks, they came straight back up, ice cream I really don't fancy! I'm mainly just eating cereal at the moment, trying to eat sweet cereal like frosties, sugar puffs etc as I feel really weak. I've always suffered with low blood sugar and everytime I stand up I feel like I'm going to pass out due to the not eating.

I know this is normally a happy place, but I can honestly say this weekend I've hated being pregnant and wished that I wasn't. It feels awful typing that, expecially with women who are desperate to have children, but I do feel that desperate now. :(

Really hoping I can some help/relieve from the Doctor today.

    Thanks for the post jenjade.

jannine the baby will be absolutely fine... it will be getting everything it needs to grow big and strong.. if anything you are the one who will be deprived of nutrients.. which is why you lose weight. Sweet cereal wont do you any good.. but if it is the only stuff you can eat then eat it.. it has a high saccharin content which causes your blood sugars to drop more as your body reacts like it is getting sugar when in fact it isnt.. ordinary granulated sugar on cornflakes or rice krispies is better.. and full fat milk if you can handle it. Could you manage a little dried fruit with the cereal? apricots are loaded with iron but anything is better than nothing.

Thanks pigpen, I know the baby will be fine deep down, but I don't have a bump yet and feel like I should have at 16 weeks gone. It just doesn't feel like there is a baby in there at the moment! I would never normally touch sweet cereal, usually have weetabix, but sugar puffs/frosties are all I fancy. I've got some grapes in the fridge and melon and some peaches, so I am going to try to eat those. I also quite fancy a smoothie, so my husband is going to get some on the way home. Didn't think about the full fat milk, normally have semi, so will get him to pick some of that up too.

    Thanks for the advice.

Janine don't worry too much I'm 16 weeks too and no sign of a bump at all :) I don't "feel" pregnant either, if there is such a feeling. I'm also eating like no tomorrow, so please don't worry! We'l probably balloon at 20 odd weeks!
